How is anyone really supposed to make a decent paycheck at $7.25 an hour?!
And most places won’t hire full time but want to put you as a non exempt pt worker so they don’t have to give benefits.
Not to mention Uncle Sam getting his portion. The person making 7.25 an hr is going home with 7.25 for the day! 🥴
Man my first job in 1999 I started at $9 an hour. $7.25 is beyond an insult in this economy. If working full time that wouldn’t even pay for a studio apartment and we haven’t even added in food, car, gas, insurance. No one can live off that. No one. When is our government going to wake up and realize even people with decent jobs are struggling to afford shit right now but yeah let’s pay people $7.25 🤯
Makes no sense! Everything has gone up and not by a little either.
A law just passed in CA that fast food workers will be getting $20/hr, which is great, but when pay wages go up, so does everything else 🫠 and $20 is not a liveab wage in CA, either.
Wow that’s crazy. I know here our cost of living isn’t as high but they have been going up and same with utilities and gas and groceries and everything else
It's designed to keep us the working poor. The new indentured servitude.
That’s how I feel because it’s like a slap in the face compared to the prices of everything
Yeah it's Bs !
I had one job that was 8.10per hr and I only got 25 hr a week and paid every two weeks 😑
Noway! Maybe in the 90s. I was getting 7.50 back in 2003 at Starbucks. Not livable salary for sure.
@icebergahead, it was raised to this I’m pretty sure in 2008 and hasn’t moved since
Shit I was still getting 7.50 three years ago before they made minimum wage 10 then.
Jersey's wrong, it's 14.13 an hour minimum wage here. Thought it was 16.50 because a lot of places here start at 16.50
