Okay I need good drink options for my three kids we're ditching that apple juice and water mixture and looking for something with no sugar what can I give them. The reason for this is they all have cavities. Help!! I looked in three stores today and all they have is like lemonades and iced teas I don't think my kids are really into those. I've tried the brand true lemon for myself and I really like them, but they stopped selling my favorite flavor, but they have a few others i could try for the kids. I just don't know how I would mix that with their cups of wayer everyday because they come in these powder packs and I'm sure you don't use one whole pack for one little cup. I used to use a half a packet for my 24 oz cup. They're almost like five bucks each too for each box
We don't do soda here at all. But I would love my kids to only have water and no more juice mixed with water
I was going to type a big long post but this article pretty much covers it. Anything acidic breaks down enamel and bacteria in the mouth love things like breads and crackers that get stuck in the teeth and feed bacteria. My kiddo's dentist always said goldfish crackers are more to blame than most things for kid's cavities. We encourage brushing or chewing xylitol sugar free gum after snacks. We've always been big on flossing and our daughter does it twice a day because that's her preference. Normally I don't go for dyes but there are dye tablets they can chew that will leave a stain on the teeth anywhere they are missing with brushing and those can help them learn to be more thorough. We also only drink water or unsweetened seltzer. ссылка
I was just going to type something like this out! Sometimes it's not even the juice, it's other foods.
Target sells "hint" water.
It's just flavored water for the kiddos.
Or seltzer water?
We’re a water only family and just have various flavors of carbonated water. How do your kiddos feel about carbonated water? The bubbles make little man feel fancy.
We also have a water dispenser on the counter that both boys love to help themselves with. Makes having a drink more appealing.
Science experiment with them on what temperature water tastes best - with ice, cold, room temp or microwaved. K and I both enjoy water on the warmer side.
Water popsicles - no joke. Both boys think these are great to make and enjoy as a cool down.
Just a disclaimer that K is in eating therapy and I’d love for him to drink anything else in addition to water, but he won’t. We’ve had to come up with some interesting water variations with him over the years 😅
At 5 and 8 are great ages to have talks about food choices. Maybe only allow a small cup with meals and then once they are done only water. Let them know they have cavities and drinking juice all the time isn't good for their teeth.
Hapi, stur.....I think Tropicana makes one.
Infuse your own water with cucumber, lemon, mint or fruits.
Coconut water might be an option cause you either like it or don’t lol.
Maybeeeee slowly water down the juice..? Nvm just read one freaks out 🤣
Water. My kids only drink water or milk. They’ll have juice occasionally, like a few times a week, but not every day. You can do fruit-infused water to get them to stay hydrated.
Trust me all I want to do is give them water. We've been slowly giving them straight up water at dinner time and bedtime if they want something to drink. My one twin freaks out if you even put water in with his apple juice but we still do it. So it might be a hard transition for him to go to just water lol. I mean we weren't giving them that much apple juice it's just like a quarter of a cup and the rest was water
@ladyfreyja, I’m kind of a “tough love” mom once they reach a certain age. They can freak out at first but at the end of they day they will drink if they’re thirsty. You can add in “hydrating” foods at first like watermelon, grapes, etc if you’re concerned about that. But honestly, the kids will be fine. Just ride the tantrums and they’ll go away in a few days.
We’re a water only family. I buy those flavoring packets so they can use those if they want. But they don’t get many cokes or anything.
