I think the recommendation is to wait 12-18 months before getting pregnant but obviously lots of women don’t follow that. A friend of mine had her 3rd and 4th only 12 months apart. Wasn’t planned. They were both preemies. During her 4th delivery they told her her uterus was extremely thin and that she can’t have anymore kids. She got her tubes tied which was the plan anyway since she had an unplanned 4th kid.
Theirs risks for everything, best thing you can do is talk to your doctor about it. I had my daughter September 2016 via c section. December 2016 I found out I was pregnant again. Told me don't worry mama, it will all be okay. I don't feel your at risk, but I will keep and eye on you. Everything went great. And now almost 6 years later, were trying for baby #3
@breenda21 no issues at all. It went better then my first c section honestly. Pain wise, it was managed with meds. But only took them for a few days after leaving the hospital. As long as you have no underlying problems you should be okay. Not saying get pregnant right away take your time. Cause lord, it was an adjustment 2 under 1 and double the diapers, double the everything. Not easy but not impossible!! If it happens just talk to your doctor about you worries and concerns.
@lezlie527, I’m so glad it went good for you. The only thing I’m sad about is I won’t be able to try to have a regular birth if I do happen to get pregnant soon. Yes that’s true so true it’s not impossible ❤️
Yes. The risk for hemorrhaging during your next pregnancy increases.. they recommend waiting at least a year before getting pregnant again. It can also make your uterus really thin and create what they call a “window”.. definitely wait if you can
@breenda21, I had a uterine window when I delivered my third son. The doctor told me not to get pregnant for at least a year preferably two, because he was worried about the pregnancy being high risk. It’s really hard on your body since you just had major abdominal surgery.
