Honey is so great for coughs. They should be able to do a full panel just from 2 swabs for all the yucky viruses and strep. I would call pedi for sure. Def needs a Covid test.

@teetw0608, what are her symptoms? I promise you fevers are not scary. They’re beneficial. Google it if you don’t take my word. But if it truly was 104 that for me would warrant a pediatrician visit to double check for nothing bacterial going on. Please breathe unless she’s known for febrile seizures in r some other medical issue it’s rare for a fever to harm someone. They’re generally beneficial. But at 104 I would have treated it too. Like you did. But at 101 just get some sleep. That’s a low grade fever.

@teetw0608, the flu is running around like wild fire. They said it’s the worst seasons they’ve seen in a decade. But it could also be strep. I’d have her tested tomorrow so you know what you’re dealing with.

I’d just let her sleep at this point if it’s 101.

@teetw0608, I would check now just to make sure it isn’t rising. Also she shouldn’t be sleeping with any heavy blankets or anything. A sheet only and light weight jammies. If she is still 104, I would give motrin now then rotate every 4 hours.

@teetw0608, ALSO it’s very important to make sure you’re dosing her properly by weight with both Tylenol and motrin. The weight guide is on the bottles. Under dosing can inhibit the meds from doing anything and overdosing can cause kidney/liver damage.

@teetw0608, it’s bc everyone was masking up until like March of last year then things went crazy. It’s about the same for the early onset of flu and RSV this year. At least here it is.

You can’t get sick from the flu shot. It also doesn’t cover every strain.
