What does back to school consist of?

Few outfits, a couple pair of shoes and a new book bag every year. They'll re-up again for Christmas lol

For your preteen, you don’t need to buy new clothes all at once but you should get her a new backpack, shoes, and supplies. Live within your means though. Hand me downs are not wrong at all in terms of clothing and accessories. I didn’t buy a bunch for my son bc he has a bunch of clothes that fit him already that are relatively new. He did get a few new pairs of shoes for the year and socks and undies.

We bought the oldest all new clothes, only cause he outgrew them and chews on his shirts until they have holes in them.. he also had to get new shoes cause he outgrew those.New book bag this year but we still have the one from last year if he wants to switch it up.

New backpack, new lunch box, new water bottle.

New shoes (3-4 styles).

Then 7 new outfits.

This year she grew a lot so it will be more i think, but we also do a whole re buy in the winter & the spring.

A few new outfits. I let them pick their own shirts. I’ll get k new shoes, T goes through vans like crazy since he is always on a skateboard so I’m sure he will need a new pair regardless of if school is starting or not. New backpack that they pick every year since their tiny and their styles and interests change so much. Definitely try to stick to the minimum since Christmas is soon and they get more as the season changes.

We always get all new everything. Clothes, shoes, backpack. My boys are hard on their clothes.

I do not go insane with it. I just get the school supplies needed. In the corporate world, this is their opportunity to shove ads in peoples’ faces to make them believe you need more than what you should buy. It is business. 🤭

I do new backpacks, new lunch boxes, new water bottles.

Our school provides all supplies, so I try to get a few things off the teachers wish list. Also, have you tried local consignment stores or platos closet for your preteen. They often carry many name brands for a fraction of the cost.

It depends honeslty, new back pack if needed shoes, clothes cause usually my kids are really hard on theirs or have a growth spurt and don’t fit into anything from last year, lunch box, water bottle

I let him decide on the backpack and donate his old one. Usually buy the backpack and lunch bag set. New water bottle if needed. He has uniforms (thank goodness) so I buy new ones and let him pick his new shoes. I am fortunate I don’t have to buy anything else (no supplies). When it’s closer to the first day of school I do buy him snacks and things for lunch since he hates school lunches. And a fresh haircut.

My nieces 17 and 15 are thrifters, so although their parents just sold a half million dollar property, the girls STILL took to Goodwill for a new haul before school. They cut them up, craft them out & mix and match their clothes so name brand wasn’t an issue for them. Don’t let other kids bullying push you to your limits. Kids don’t NEED name brand clothes, it’s all mental. . .but if she’s outgrown and outworn her clothes, yes get her a few items to make her feels special. Walmart is a great cheap spot or you can Amazon daily deals on clothes her size 🙏🏽 May this year continue to fill your family with blessings!
