What's happening with my Hoya carnosa succulent?
@icebergahead do you know what is going on with my succulent? I've had this plant for probably about 10 years and it did so well until a few months ago. I even repotted it to see if it would help and it got worse. It's all dried up like crazy. I kept it alive for 10 years so I don't know what just happened lok. Im kinda sad 😭. I think it's called Hoya carnosa. I don't even know if it's a succulent but the leaves were like a succulent

But not sure.
But it has thick leaves like a hoya to me.

@ladyfreyja, I am leaning more towards a Hoya carnosa. Like in this photo. I have a few hoyas myself. Has this one ever bloomed?

no, which I'm surprised about also. I know it's supposed to

that's exactly what it looked like when it was healthy. That's it

It looks like it may need water or possibly has been overwatered of the leaves are limp but not dry a d cripy . Have you Fertilize? It usually like moist soil but not damp. And bright/indirect light. Also an area that does not have cold drafts. It likes humidity.

that was it. I remember now from reading about almost ten years ago, thanks

yup. They are thick and waxy. I have about 3 kinds.
I hope yours gets better. Something is off for it. Maybe moving it to a brighter location but not toast it. I am not sure. Making sure the pot has holes on the bottom so water does not just sit at the bottom, watering when mostly dry. Some may be finicky about the type of water you use. But like you said, yours was fine for years.

so I just cut off all the parts that were dead on it and it all came from like the same root area and now the rest of it looks healthy so hopefully it'll get better now

@icebergahead I just used my clippers to cut them close to old root but then just pulled out the whole dead root. You can kind of see it, it's at the top right, it's a really small area of roots there's barely anything there so whatever is left over is inside the pot still. You know what I do remember about 3 years ago some lady gave me part of her plant. She had the same one and hers was blooming. I was like oh my God I have the same plant but it's never bloomed, she's like here take some of mine and I think that's the part that died is the part she gave me.

oh wow. That is interesting.
They start to bloom when fertilized too.
