Wondered if anyone can help!
I’ve been struggling with my weight for some years now but since having Evie it’s gotten even worse. I’m 5ft 8in, had a baby 3 months ago and I’m already down to 7st 13lb (I was 9st 9lb at my booking appointment in pregnancy)I have zero appetite whatsoever, I’m BARELY eating one meal a day, most of the time the majority ends up in the bin. I’ve been to the doctors previously a couple of years ago and got palmed with ‘eat little but often’ which, when you have no appetite at all it really isn’t easy to physically force feed yourself. I’ve been struggling for a fair few years now but it’s getting to the point I can’t afford to be losing more weight. I’m constantly exhausted because of it, my skin looks awful and not to mention I have NO confidence or self esteem. Has anyone been in a similar position? And for the love of god please don’t come at me with the whole ‘I wish I could lose weight like that’ or ‘you’re so lucky the baby weight dropped off you’ because that’s all I’ve heard and honestly it’s an insult. There is NOTHING glamorous about the way I am/ my eating habits right now
Has any doctor looked into your hormone levels or thyroid? Could possibly be a hormone inbalance. Some women develop over active thyroid after giving birth.
I’ve had an overactive thyroid since I was 13, then when I had Charlie pregnancy somehow fixed it. It’s been up and down since (not currently on treatment) but I am awaiting to see my endocrinologist as they detected thyroid antibodies at my last screening at the end of pregnancy x
Yes i was similar with the low appetite but i was eating junk food and take outs so i put the weight on
I dont like shakes as i dont like milk but i had 'myprotien clear" basically a protein shake but its like juice. Theres sooo many flavours apple, peach, watermelon, pineapple...and its just like having a standard cordial drink. I then started small like cheese and biscuits for my tea as these are my favourite and worked on eating small things. I obvs did it to loose weight but if you did this along side carbs it may work
Also do you take vitamins? Look into ones for energy vitamin d3, vitamin C ? You can also get energize tablets to put in water from home bargains i thought they worked when i felt sluggish
Sorry if this didnt help as i did it to loose weight but my partner told me about these drinks and said to me not to have them and 3 meals as id put weight on. So maybe try give it a go
I did used to enjoy the shakes (with milk, couldn’t have them with water 🤢) haven’t heard of the juices before but I will look into them and give them a go! I can’t stomach the milkshakes anymore purely because they’re just so heavy but I do drink juice throughout the day so it could be good for me! Thankyou!
@jo.wilcox yes this is exactly what im like with the shakes. But the juices were really nice i had the watermelon on and its really refreshing x
Hey yes, i had no appetite after Maya. Mainly that was down to PND I think 🤔 took ages to come back and even now 6 years later its not fully there. I just don't enjoy food the same way i use to. I simply eat just to maintain my health and that's pretty much it
How is your mental health since having her?
Shakes may help, try some high carbed foods 💜
Yeah it stemmed from having Charlie and having severe PND but I since recovered from that. My eating habits improved a little and I was at least snacking throughout the day and only skipping lunch. But it’s worse than ever now, I honestly wouldn’t say I’m depressed so I don’t know the reasoning. When I do get hungry I look forward to whatever it is I’m cooking but when it comes down to it I have a few bites and I’m over it, to the point sometimes I physically gag. It’s ridiculous!
Have you tried any shakes for weight gain? Drinking might be easier than eating plus they will have the nutrients. I completely get this. I dropped loads of weight after having babies and was skinny shamed so much for it and it made me very self conscious. X
It all started after had Charlie, I had really bad PND but I got better. Day to do I don’t feel depressed at all anymore so I can’t put it down to that, I just don’t want to/cant face the thought of eating and my body right now DOES depress me. I tried the shakes a couple of years ago for that exact logic because I enjoy a milkshake and it was easier to drink than face a meal. I bought some a couple of weeks ago again and they’re still sat in the cupboard I don’t have the slightest interest them. It’s just getting stupidly out of hand now 😩 and this is obviously why my milk dried up too which guilts me every single day x
Have you had your thyroid checked? I’m only asking because my mum lost a lot of weight after my sister. She said some days she would eat a mars bar all day. She was down to under 6 stone after my sister and it was due to an over active thyroid. Xxx
