Медсестры-мамы, делитесь! Стоит ли учиться на FNP, когда дети маленькие? Плюсы и минусы

FNP Pros: Good pay, Nice having autonomy, Lots of job opportunities

FNP Cons: Lots of charting, Patients these days can write negative reviews and blast you online for dumb stuff, Continuously having to keep up with new medications, protocols, etc.

I’m a FNP! Or I was…I just retired my license late last year because I’ve been staying home with the kids since my daughter was born. BUT, I think it’s a great career! I went straight through after nursing school, so I didn’t have any kids until my son was born during the last semester, but it was a fun, yet challenging program. I think the online programs are probably easier and more do-able with kids—I was at a major university and it wasn’t a walk in the park. I ate, slept, and breathed nursing for those 2 years in the ARNP program, but it was definitely worth it. It’s nice to have more autonomy and decision-making capabilities versus just following orders as an RN. Good luck! 🍀
