Y’all i met this tow truck driver yesterday and our talk really touched my heart. I dropped my car off the other day to the shop and they gave me a loner suv. Yesterday the damn thing broke down on me while I was on my way to the bank. We called a tow and I had to ride with the tow driver to the shop so I could get another car. Anyways, We talked about everything under the sun. He told me his 4 year old niece passed away a few months ago. They donated her eyes and heart. The family that received her eyes want to meet the family. The family had received her heart sent a strip of her heart rhythm to them from an ekg or another test that was done. He said he doesn’t know if his brother is prepared for the meet up but he plans to go with him to support him. He said even though it’s not his niece, it will still be an opportunity to look into her eyes. He was so sweet and I really enjoyed our talk. I haven’t really peopled in a long time so that was nice.

That’s so sweet 🥺 something similar happened to my dad… he needed a new liver and after 3 other attempts he finally got a liver, months passed and he received a letter in the mail with a couple of pictures. It was the family who donated the liver, they sent my dad pictures of the donor and some of his art work. In my 27 years of life I’ve never seen my dad cry, he was so happy they reached out to him. I believe they may keep in contact through letters. It’s nice to people with good people, it’s hard to find good nice genuine people these days

@heatherlou88, I tried donating part of my liver and he wouldn’t allow it.. that’s awesome your husband did that! How is your husband and mil now?

my husband had normal liver function within a couple months. It grows back super fast!! He had the healthiest liver they'd ever seen. he couldn't lift or work for like 3 months (he did anyways). He was actually up walking the day after surgery which isn't normal lol he's just super tough My mother in law is doing great liver wise and had normal liver function quick as well, she takes anti rejection meds daily though!! The surgery itself was very long and they cut my husband from his groin to his sternum and broke his ribs plus took his gallbladder out. He literally saved his mom's life though, she was in liver failure from an autoimmune disease of her duct. Never was a heavy drinker or drug user, just something that happened to her. It's where her ducts collapsed or something like that. She did great during surgery though. (This was back in July 2020)

some states don't allow live liver donors, my MIL and hubs went to Baylor in Dallas.

This story really reminds me that life is too short and someone is always in a worse situation than you. I hope that man's family is able to do some partial healing one day.

you’re so right. Ive been wrapped in all the negative things that are going on in my life that I needed this reminder from him and even you. I might be going through a storm but i’m alive, the kids are well and everything i’m facing can be fixed. I made sure to call and leave a compliment about him. He was so nice from the moment he came until we said goodbye.
