this home school stuff is driving me insane. My son is the most difficult person to deal with. I swear I don’t know how teachers do it because my patience is used all up. This man is about to be on the schools front door at 5 am, waiting to start his day there. Young fella is really stressing my soul. I stopped repeating myself. At this point you get it the first time or two and after that it’s on you. phewwwwwwww. I wish I could drink, I’d be drunk teaching him every day.

It is really taxing! 5 is a very tough year because they're still maturing a lot and need frequent breaks. My daughter needed one of those dynamic sitting discs so she could wiggle. She also had a yoga ball chair.
Do you do a lot of lessons on camera? Because it makes you feel better to see how the rest of them are the same. Kinder teachers are lion tamers. :D

he’s 8. it’s not like actual zooms. i have to teach him the lessons and he has things to complete online and in workbooks. we have to turn it in and somebody grades it. he has adhd and bipolar, if he was in a public school he’d be in a behavioral contained SPED class , unfortunately these courses aren’t really meant for someone with an IEP. Academically he’s so smart, he knows it but the behaviors to get it done stress me out.

@dontblockmesis-imjustspeakingfacts oh, crap. Sorry I misread that. Freaking covid! You're doing the best you can in the circumstances. We just had a huge meeting with the superintendent and parents on Zoom regarding that state required in person testing. Some anti masker parents started giving her shit about masking for 3 hours during a test and she shut it right down. She said their child doesn't have a greater importance than all the other children in the school and they make rules to protect all the kids. She said they have to offer the test because the state of Ohio is acting like this is a normal year and it isn't a normal year.
I am just rambling. It's a shitshow.

I feel this! Thankfully our schools started in school about 3/4 of the way through the school year last year. But trying to do school work with our 6 year old was awful! (Granted we were both still working 40hr weeks and trying to do his schooling) but with us he acted like he knew nothing and didn't understand anything and I kid you not this boy was on a zoom call with his teacher and flying through everything perfectly that he was giving us a hard time with. I basically quit in that moment 🤣🤣 not really but the second they announced that they were opening full time for those that wanted it, no discussion was needed we knew he was going!
