Not sure if anyone can help. My son was formula fed and he always seemed content & slept through majority of the night…

Not sure if anyone can help. My son was formula fed and he always seemed content & slept through majority of the night at 8 weeks old and napped in the daytime very well. My daughter who is nearly 8 weeks old cries much of the night because she is hungry. She is exclusively breast fed. She also has really bad gas & wind. I'm not sure whether to switch to formula ?? Can anyone help ?? Xx

Id personally stop the gripe water & infacol and spend a little extra and get colief instead! Its banned in other countries for a reason and these no evidence to say it works. I personally found it never helped my second who struggled terribly with acid reflux. Every feed he would spit up afterwards and scream the house down then one day the gp give him gaviscon I know they aren't the same 2 things but the colief worked for a short period of time id really recommend it. Gp said soon as he is able to sit unaided it would just disappear and it really did just one day no longer struggled. I wouldn't change to formula it will upset her stomach more an will make her bowel movements worse and cause her to be constipated and that alone is another worry my kids are 12 months apart so I was just learning motherhood with my first then my second came along its physically/mentally draining and still sometimes now at nearly 3 n 4 I struggle to have a shower but it does get easier once you get them both into a routine. If you feel things aren't getting better keep going back and pushing at the gp or health visitor... Goodluck. X

Thanks hun, that's great advice. Because she is so uncomfortable at night and daytime, she will often sleep in my arms and stay on my chest or her dads chest or sleep on our bed. I'm worried she won't come out of this. Do you think I should just let her cry and leave her in her own bed ??

@gemini95 I don't think I can comment on that tbh lovely i think it will be to hard for you to leave her crying But what I would say is do what's best for you!❤

If she will settle next to you in the bed then leave her be if it gives you some shuteye she won't stay there forever! Definitely try the colief hopefully its will be a godsend for you! Also my friends little boy had colic to the point he was blue lighted from 2weeks old but he outgrew it come 3 months old so hopefully it will bypass for you then too! Stay strong 💪& always a message away if you need to. X

I wouldnt say it's anything to do with being formula fed or breastfed. My son was formula fed and was a nightmare baby, up all night crying and I remember thinking to myself is it possible to die of tiredness 😂 my daughter is also formula fed and is an angel baby. Naps and goes to bed and sleeps most of the night.

You've done well doing 8 weeks breastfeeding so it wouldnt be the end of the world if you wanted to change over. But it doesnt necessarily mean she will become like your son, if you think its colic you can take her to the doctors and they will come up with some things to help you out. xx

@kelsey234, thanks for advice hun! I feel like the first 6 weeks were really challenging juggling them both as they are both so young and demand so much attention!!! I was barely remembering to eat or drink or look after myself 😂😂It is getting easier as the little one grows and I'm getting to learn more about her likes & dislikes xxx

@gemini95 oh god yeah its very hard to adjust to trying to split yourself in half 😂 sometimes emies crying and Tommy's demanding I play with him and I just dont know how to do both. But I'm getting there! I know tell me about it trying to find a moment to shower is a joke 😂

Yeah I'm definitely done now, I always said if I was going to have kids it would be 2 and that's it. I think I've been blessed enough to have one of each aswell what more can I ask for. Also pregnancy is just not for me 😂 xx
