Im about to put myself on blast but I was raped at 8 years old while wearing my soccer uniform by a trusted adult. No one is saying what you wear is the issue, because I highly doubt a 40something year old saw me and said “yes below the knee shorts and baggy smelly soccer shirt make me so horny” don’t be dense. What we are saying is there is a time and place for kids to be dressed like adults in my personal opinion this has NOTHING TO DO with pervs and more to do with me wanting to keep my kid a kid. This world makes people grow too fast and I for one am not going to rush my child to grow. I’m an almost 30 year old female and I don’t wear shit like that (not because of pervs but because it’s not my cup of tea) and that’s okay to each their own. If you in the future choose to allow your daughter to dress with booty shorts, crop tops or whatever else that’s your parenting decision. But don’t try to chastise parents that want to try and keep our kids kids because they’ll have plenty of time to be adults.

And to add about my rape. I never told my mother until I was 19 years old and honestly I had to get counseling because I thought (for the longest time) that made me damaged goods. It sucks that it happens and it’s sad when we as kids think we where the issue and not the disgusting POS adult who deserves to be castrated. Maybe that’s why my views are skewed because I want to try to protect my daughter and son as much as I can because as a child I didn’t feel protected.

I 100% believe what one wears should never be a reason for being sexualized. A pedophile will always be a pedophile no matter what one is wearing. But there is definitely a time and a place for everything. Kids should be kids.

I think the whole crop top trend isn’t cute. Especially on children. I’ll tell ya right now…my momma wouldn’t of let me out of the house in a tube top back in day & I feel they’re very similar. So no thank you! I agree with you here. They’re not for kids!!

Personally I agree with this. I think kids should be kids and not dress like an adult. My daughter won’t be wearing crop tops in elementary school or middle school, maybe that’s old fashion on me. When she is in high school I don’t really see a problem but most of the time I see them with high waisted jeans which makes them look more respectable. 🤷🏻‍♀️

It's a time and place for everything. I would never let my girls wear em at a young age (elementary/middle school) but my oldest now in 10th grade has a couple. But then again how she wears them she doesn't look like a hoochie lol. She always has a jean jacket over it and some kind of high waisted skinny or "mom" jeans with em or whatever style these young folks call em 🤷🏾‍♀️

I don’t have a girl but if I did, I wouldn’t let her wear crop tops. It’s for a grown woman to wear if she chooses. It’s not appropriate for school in my opinion.

I agree it’s not about “pervs” but there’s an age when they should dress grown. Personally elementary aged girls and middle school girls have no business looking grown. Nope nope nope. Can’t convince me other wise.

Same tbh. Sometimes I ask myself at what age I would let my daughter, if I had one, (or son if he so chooses) to wear one and I guess high school? But like with high waisted bottoms only.
