How do you feel about kids returning back to school in fall ?

Ct has handle the virus very well and most adults out here are vaccinated and the majority wear masks still in public places where you can't socially distance...I really hope the public schools will mandate masks until the little ones can be vaccinated especially with the delta variant knocking at our door.

My son continued to go to daycare throughout everything we had no choice but to work. We haven't had any concerns and feel they have taken precautions to keep the kids safe. He will start kindergarten this fall and I have no concern. He is great about wearing a mask and washing his hands and probably understand spreading germs better than some adults 😂😂 I pray he stays safe but know that we will teach and do what we can on our end.

Around us, if your aren't vaxed they should wear a mask.....kids aren't yet so I'm hoping they have to wear masks at school. I'm ready for the vaccine to be ready for kids tho!

My 10 year old won’t be going back until he can be vaccinated

My teen will be the FIRSTTTT one at the gate on the first day of school 🤣🎒 get outtttttt. She is vaccinated tho but would've been going regardless. My toddler been in preschool the whole year and still is and her school never had an issue with the virus and they wear mask.

I’m nervous about it. My area isn’t offering online, masks are optional for everyone in school and there aren’t any small private schools close by. I don’t feel like I have great options. But my son is good about wearing his mask so I can only hope he’ll follow my directions and keep it on all day at school, despite what others may be doing or saying. I wish masks in school had been kept mandatory for everyone until vaccination became available to all school-age kids.

I’m ready!!! My oldest went hybrid for the last 2 months and my second is currently in person summer school. My boys are good with the mask wearing it’s my daughter that is an anti masker 😂😂 she may cause some issues. They all want to go back, my boys miss their friends and my daughter is excited to start school and make friends.

And when I say "going about our lives", I mean going back to church & Lynnie starting school! We don't do anything else except go to the lake for jet skiing and boating/swimming, go on hikes, fishing, just outdoor stuff. We don't do any other indoor activities, no dine in restaurants because my kids are too much, nothing extra EXCEPT church and Lynnie starting school in September. I still only do grocery pick ups and probably wont ever go back to indoor shopping unless I'm by myself. Lol

I think all Americans will be eligible for the vaccine by Oct/Nov and when my daughter is vaccinated, we're going everywhere! I can't wait. My mom just bought this awesome RV and we're excited.

I was reading an article that a physician and professor at a medical school in NY wrote, and he basically said we are set to have "two Americas" for a while. Counties and states with high vaccination rates are going to be business as usual, low vax counties and states will see what we saw last winter, full ER, full ICU, etc. It just sort of is what it is. Everyone makes their own decisions. I think kids will be passing a lot of Delta variant covid back and forth until the ones who are going to get vaxed get the shot. It's more than 60% more transmissible and that really stinks.

My daughter starts kindergarten in September at a small, private school. I am weary but also not living in fear for another year, we remain cautious but we personally are going about our lives. Now if something crazy happens and we have an outrageous number of cases we may do something different but right now Our cases remain low here, we have 116 active cases in a county of nearly 100,000. Our state has like 2,000 cases. Mask mandates haven't been active here since the end of March or April and we are doing well.

With Delta variant running rampant, not optimistic. Once again, we dropped the ball. I think it could have been fine if we kept masks up through summer.
