What a morning. I somehow just found old pathology reports that just showed up online from when my son was born. Idk why they weren’t there before but they are now and that’s what matters. I always knew we had some issues with the birth and pregnancy but nobody told me much. We knew he had low fluid and that was monitored a lot over my pregnancy. But come to find out they sent my placenta to be tested because my son had pooped in me prior to birth. Which I knew as well as soon as my water broke you could see it. But come to find out my placenta was very small less than the bottom 5th percentile. There was a infarction hematoma, diffuse areas of delayed villous maturation, and his first apgar was 3. Mine you I know he needed help I knew he wasn’t ok. He came so fast. And was so tiny. But all of this combined there was a strong chance that if things didn’t happen as fast as they did he could have been stillborn. But we had a guardian angel watching over us and he is a thriving almost 3 year old. But this makes so much sense. I have tried to get our birth records and always get forgotten about or can’t get to talk to someone. I always just wanted to know because I had a gut feeling but would let it slide they never got back to me that they were ready for me to pick up. But let me tell you now I am raising hell to get them because there have been small concerns with my son that they always ask about if we had issues with pregnancy and birth and I always said no just low fluid and a quick delivery where he needed a little bit of help to start breathing but we contributed it to him coming out head and body with one push. Plus we are getting a new pediatrician since ours just wants to lecture about everything and brushes over our concerns. We kind of just fell under her care because ours had retired last summer. Anywho. I just needed to vent and get it out so if you have made it this far thanks for reading/listening. 💕
The hospital also may be getting audited and just now going through records. Hence it just showing up now.
I'm a med assistant and learned all this in school.
