Just curious my little boy is 11 weeks old and 1 day.
Hes drinking 5ounce bottles and has been for the last few weeks and hes feeding every 3 hours. health vistor and everyone knows who needs to know and i asked first before upping them just curious on what your little ones were drinking at this age.💛
I echo what everyone else has said. My baby is 5 and a half months old and she's on 5oz every 3 hours. When she was your little ones age she was on 3oz and that was enough for her, as she grew she would occasionally want another oz and wouldn't settle without it but rarely. So we upped the bottles by an Oz and overtime she then drank the whole bottle, she'll always leave anything she doesn't want. Also growth spurts means sometimes she'll feed more frequently. Xxx
Every baby is different but you know your baby. With my first my health visitor told me I was feeding her too much! But she was a very hungry baby and also had bad reflux and was very sicky. In the end I put her on hungry baby which worked for us. With my second she was a refluxy and sicky baby too but wasn't a hungry baby. I was told both times to feed on demand and that it was always better to make an oz more than an oz less even if you end up throwing it away at the end if you know what I mean. If they are full they won't drink anymore and both of mine have slept through from 7pm til 7am since 2 weeks old. I never woke them up for a night feed from birth, I let them let me know when they were hungry and it worked well for us xx
All babies are different ☺️ you know your own baby and if he’s happy and content with 5oz then that’s perfect for you both if he’s still hungry try upping it up to 6 he might drink it he might not. My wee cousin is 4 and she drank a full bottle literally every 2 hours. She was so so chunky the health visitor was like ehhhhh you need to reduce her milk 🙈 she still had full bottles every 2 hours with meals on between. She genuinely looked like the mitchellan baby with the rolls 😂😂😂😂 it’s great he is sleeping through. My daughter fed 4oz every 4-5 hours at his age and also slept through the night she wasn’t a hungry baby though she slept most of the day and all through the night. She’s still a lazy bugger xx
Aww look at him! 😍
Mine was on 5oz pretty quickly too I thought the same but its fine your not over feeding him if he didn't want it he would leave it, you can now add another oz to make 6 but he won't drink the whole extra oz he will slowly start having a little bit more each feed if tha makes sense? You could also try and give him longer between or does he wake for it after the 3 hours? As long as he's getting what he needs in the day too you can also space out the night feeds as long as hes above his birth weight xx
@tammyxx yeah sometime hes drains his 5oz some times he dosent just depends. I'm ok I have my good days and bad days this lockdown isnt really helping though but everyones in the same boat how are you? Xxx
@becijayne944 ohhh well in that case id leave it at 5oz and wait till he's draining them all n then up it, aww I know hopefully we get back to normal soon just feels like this is the new normal now though doesn't it 🙃 im good just sat down with a hot cuppa both boys are at nursery today but I am so so glad my eldest has been non stop hard work alllll week I thought we'd passed the terrible 2's but 3's are even worse 😂 please tell me they get easier haha xxx
@tammyxx well enjoy your cuppa 😁 I'd like to say it gets easier but my lg turned 4 in october and its like living with a teenage girl 🤣🤣 shes worse since not being able to go to nursery by the time she gets back to school she be in full time :( yeah a think this is the new normal it's horrible though. Xxx
He drinks 5oz every 3 hours but my mother in law and sister in law were like it's to much he shouldn't be on that at that age but he was chewing his hand and still twisty and he was still mootching for a bottle so I asked if I could up it another ounce was just curious and its helped my mind because I feel like a shouldn't of done it and am over feeding him due to everyone else saying its 2.much for him. So thankyou. X
@becijayne944 , if he seems content after the 5 I would leave him but if you feel he's looking for more another ounce won't hurt you may find he won't drink that extra ounce all the time and only need it sometimes. He could just be a hungry baby
