A while ago someone posted images about people who manipulate the people around them to get what they want by making people feel sorry for them in all different situations. I can’t find them or remember what the term was. We’re having a situation with a friend and I’m wracking my brain to remember.

Thank you!

People that have narcissistic personalities tend to be the victim, but being a victim is a trait of a lot of personality disorders.

yeah, reading up on it made me realize I was wrong
Mandy··
good luck! People that are in denial can be exhausting to try and help

thanks! Yeah, we’re thinking about letting him just lose it and then helping him heal. He has been numbing himself with alcohol and weed for months following the deaths of his grandfather and brother. He’s always displayed these behaviors, but never to this extreme

Someone posted one a while ago that completely applied.to my MIL. It was something "reactive". Basically, she pushes people's buttons About things that really upset them, and when they get super upset and freak out on her, she manipulates their guilt into doing what she wants. It is sneaky AF! Let me go see if I can find the screenshot. I saved it to show my husband. He's onto her now!

My brother in law has it badly. A huge thief and swears it was the person he took from fault 🤦🏽♀️

@jenx, this is very useful! I have to deal with some family members who are like this.

I have a relative like this that when she is wrong she will not admit it and when I feel like exploding on her she threatens suicide to make you feel sorry for her. It messes with my mind because I know when I am not in the wrong. She just wants people to feel sorry for her because she will not apologize for her mistakes. Instead she will piss you off and expect you to apologize to her. I cut her out of my life. I can’t stand that toxic behavior. No matter what, she has to feel like she won and does so by trying to avoid confrontation, to the problems she creates. For her it’s a win win situation to screw people over but also being able to get away with not apologizing and having people feel sorry for her. Most people focus on her suicidal tendencies which are really just for attention. She won’t do it but she will pull out that card to have people change the topic of their issue with her so she can feel validated.
