I need advice,
As you all know I’m currently on a placement as a TA, well, covid and norovirus are currently going around the school and there’s quite a lot of staff off and children in our reception class too. I don’t know what to do. I love it and I know I need to do it but.. I’m so scared of bringing either one home to Noah and my oh, if all of us had either I just don’t know what would happen, or even me and mark as we have no one to look after Noah. What would you do? I’m thinking of talking to my tutor and explaining I don’t feel safe enough to continue and would like to postpone my placement until the end of lockdown. I just feel like I’m letting the school down but I have put my family first.😩

It is a really really hard situation to be in however there are teachers with families at home too and they have no option but to be in their work. That’s just the way I’d be thinking and this may be how your tutor puts it across too. I get how you feel and in all honesty all parents naturally who still have to physically work are feeling the same. My aunt is a nursery teacher with 3 kids her youngest is in her nursery and my uncle is a phone engineer so both key workers and of course it’s a worry for them but they literally have no choice but to go to work. Their eldest 2 are at high school which has more cases of COVID than my aunts nursery and my uncles work. I would feel the same as you but we are all in the same situation and It’s a very hard situations and time for everyone xxx

I get that but that is their living this is volunteering, if you know what I mean. I’m just so anxious to bring anything back home I think any other time if we weren’t in a pandemic I would just get on with it, but I’m more scared atm I guess xx

oh no I completely get it. I’ve been working from home since March and I’m literally one day dying to go back and other days I’m like nahhh screw going back to an office with 1000’s if people. I did see your other post though about not having masks etc that would make me anxious so I’d definitely bring that up because that’s your safety at risk xxx

I'd definitely bring it up and hope for the best.

I agree with @mrsmowmow
Life has to carry on to some sort of degree, covid could be around for years yet and we just need to adapt as best we can to a new normality.
As for Norovirus it comes around every year, we had it a few years ago at Christmas, my brother in law gave it to my son who gave it to me a few days later, it was ROUGH but passed within 24 hours.
It's your decision completely what you choose to do but what if covid is still here when the lowdown ends, or it continues well into the new year, you can't put your life on hold through fear xx
