Please thank him for his hard work and dedication to our service members! Is he also a Veteran? I'd love to learn more about what he does. Living with PTSD or other conditions due to military service is certainly no cake walk. Not fun, not easy. Life is a struggle for everyone at some point but for many of us who have served we get a double whammy and once out of the uniform few understand and our support is gone. The VA has gotten better under Pr. Trump and I am grateful but we still have a long way to go to. And our older Veterans deserve so much more!!!

He’s still active duty. He hit 21 years this past July! He just spends a lot of individual time with each of his soldiers talking about their savings, future plans, retirement savings, etc. Unfortunately, unless you are really high ranking or qualify for a good chunk of disability, it’s hard to retire from the military and make ends meet without starting another career. It’s sad and it’s also why a lot of the guys/girls jump right into government contact work - sending them away from their families for even more time. He also talks to them individually about their mental health and tries to break down the stigma of seeking help. And for those that spend a few years in and want to get out, he discusses school or other career opportunities for them and provides them with all available resources to help with the transition into civilian life. I know the military has organizations and people to help with those things, but sometimes it can be hard to want to seek the help without having the additional little push from someone you trust.
