Any nurses that could answer a question.
My husband cut his finger and him and his friends stupidly superglued it. It was deep and jagged and it would benefit more and heal nicer if he got stitches. But my question is can the dr get the super glue out that they stupidly decided was a better idea at the time. Or are we just stuck with seeing how it heals.
It will heal ugly, but I wouldn't be as concerned about that as infection. If he put the glue in without cleaning it right, infection is more of a concern. Keep it clean and washed out. Soap and water daily and keep it dry. Beside the knuckle looks worse that over the top. If there is any spreading redness or puss(not just discharge) seek medical attention immediately.
Liquid stitches will do it my sun had a bigger gash next to his eye it works don’t need a nurse lol
They may scrub the shit out of that to get the glue off. Not the same since my brothers head was not fresh, but he did the same and they had to open the wound back up by scrubbing it and running saline over to do stitches and antibiotics.
Can you post a pic? Depending how bad it was, sometimes the hospital actually uses glue. And if it was jagged to start with stitches may not be an option even if the doctors remove the glue.
@tiera_shaye I'm not a nurse but have experience with wounds and that needs stitches/real medical glue. I'm sure they can do something about the super glue. It's going to get infected if he just leaves it like that.
He finally is going in. He peeled some of the glue off because it was partially coming off from bending it anyways and because his finger is swollen. Which I’m not surprised. He is just stubborn so I pushed him as much as I could until he caved lol this isn’t the first time he has waited idk why he does this.
