Can I just rave for a second? It’s been 9 years since I’ve had any schooling since I’ve had my oldest. I took this college course for 8 weeks/4 days a week/6 hours a day ( with kids running around) and my final was Wednesday which I aced. I feel very proud of myself and happy I don’t have to take the 0 credit algebra in the fall. Well next week actually! I’m excited for this brand new journey and to put my fears aside. 💪🏼🤗
Aww Ria this means so much to me! Thank you so much. I love surrounding myself with uplifting amazing women I can call friends. So thank you for being there for me. 😘😘😘
@dontspankme, I wish I chose a good major though. I picked liberal arts. 😆 It’s kind of hard to get a job with that. I was thinking if I go for anthropology in the next college but then I’m also like can I get a decent job doing that? I wouldn’t mind working for a museum or a company with that major but I couldn’t be a teacher for anthropology. I would be too nervous and shy for that lol.
I used to hate telling people how the women in my family are like. I used to get judged a lot for that. People wouldn’t understand how the women stay at home and don’t work. It was even awkward when I would go on dates back then and the men were very arrogant and compare their moms to my mom. 🤦🏻♀️ That was a deal breaker. It would be like how does your mother not have a career? With my mom she is blah blah blah and perfect and this or that. That’s why I never really went past a first date very rare. 🤣 People don’t get it that there are different cultures, customs, people have different backgrounds. Not everything is the same. I hate their kind of thinking. The women from both my moms and dads family always took care of the house even when their children would grow up. They would always take care of the house and their husband and then help with the grandchildren when they could. The women would stay married to their husbands. Now things are different, people divorce and it’s serious without any job experience or education. My aunt went through this where her husband divorced her so now at 56 years old. What can she really do? It’s hard, that’s why I want to feel like I can make a difference but also worry about my future and my kids future so that if I end up single, I won’t have to rely on a man. I also wish to be financially well enough one day so that way, I can help my family in the future besides my children, if my mom is struggling or my aunt etc.
Don’t sell yourself short on being a anthropology teacher! I think it’s a awesome major and interesting. Mine is nursing.
Also I totally understand what you mean about your family. Mine is the same growing up in a Arab household. With women being a stay at home mom but I never hated telling people that. I know some people would judge when I talked about it but I don’t really care because it’s a full time job as well and very rewarding. I’m glad to be raised by my mom. And I am doing this for myself and my kids as well or incase I have nothing to fall back on in bad circumstances, god forbid. It gives us more motivation being from different cultures and customs. I want to say, I’m very proud of you as well. 💓
@dontspankme, haha I hope so. I definitely will. It will feel good since I was slacking and took so many breaks over the years but I’m glad that I was finally serious about wanting to finish school the last few years. Also it will feel good because most of the women from both of my family sides didn’t go to college so I feel like I am doing it for them in a way.
Same here girl! You will feel like you’re on cloud nine when you graduate I bet! Also same here family wise, my mom is super happy for me to start my higher education. Go ahead and represent mama 👏🏼
@dontspankme, thank you! I hope I will be able too. If I’m lucky and pass these 2 upcoming classes, then I will be able to graduate and hopefully transfer to another college. 😃
I already know you will, call it a sixth mom sense lol I feel like the motivation kicks in harder as a mother. So def come back and update when you do Ofcourse 😁 so I can say I told you say. Good luck!
Yes! 🙌🏻 Congratulations. 😃🎉
I took a math course this summer and I was so happy when I passed it. I’m crossing my fingers that I pass the 2 classes I have coming up in a week and a half. I’m gonna take another math class and an english class. I’m not looking forward to the essays though lol but hopefully I can ace it. 🤞🏻
Thank you! Congratulations to you as well woohoo! I’m sure you will pass hun, don’t worry, you got this. I start a full time semester next week and super nervous but will try my best.
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...
Short Luteal Phase?
I've just started temping because I believe that the reason I haven't had a BFP yet, after 20 months, is because I believe I may have a Luteal Phase Defect.
Transgender children
So I just learned that in my kids school district (my kids aren't in school yet my oldest will be starting kindergarten next September) there are twin boys who identify as girls. They are 5 years old. What's your opinions on this matter given they are 5!!! I don't believe that at that age they really understand the whole thing. So the entire school had to take a course on how to handle transgender children. For example they can't say girls go this or boys do that. What are...
Science!
My friend posted this on facebook last night and said her kids were asleep within minutes. It's a song that scientists created to help people fall asleep. I was skeptical but I thought what the hay, I'll try it out. I didn't bank on Dh falling asleep, but both him and lo were asleep by minute 2. And lo slept six straight hours. ?
Oh my goodness! How did I miss this post!? Girl I am so proud of you!!! You are truly wonderful, intelligent, resilient.. the list goes on. Congrats love!! You are most certainly doing your super women thing right here! Love you girl🙏💅🎉👍😘
