Ok so after i have my 2nd daughter i want tubes snip tied and burned.... Well my mother in law is insiting i dont get burned " just in case we want more children down the road" but the thing is me n hubby talked and we really dont want anymore kids we think two is enough for us. Is anyone going through this too?

I was pretty positive I didn’t want any more after my daughter was born. I kinda chicken out too many what if’s. I got long term IUD.

I highly suggest you put your MIL on an info diet and stop sharing news like this with her that are going to make you second guess your decisions. Your body , your rules. She’s only a grandma by your good graces so she better appreciate what she has now .

My husband and I talked about him getting a vasectomy and my mother in law keeps telling us not to because we’re young and might want more (I’m going to be 31 and he’s 32). Frankly it’s no one else’s business. If you two feel that this is what is best for you then kindly ignore your mother in law.

If she’s not helping you raise them, she should have no bearing on the decision. My mil is constantly saying we should have more kids but 1) it wouldn’t be smart financially and 2) I get absolutely no help from anyone. My family lives in a different state. When my daughter was born, I came home from the hospital after 24 hrs. My husband had started a new job so he had to return to work but I was completely alone with a 2 yr old. No one helped me and since then I don’t ask for help. His family promised they’d be there to help and ultimately I was alone so I don’t even bother listening to anything they say anymore.

@newmama19, wow you’re so young! I think the minimum age is 25 but maybe it depends on the doctor.

And when he got out of prison he got ahold of me and was like " well maybe down the line you can call me dad again" i was like no im not going to do that you basically tried to violate me and i dont want you around my daughter. Now he is telling people i was 16 when it happen and my mom and i are just blowing it out of proportion. But yet he cant remember what age i was when he did it. 🙄🙄🙄

@mumma_0fo2 as a teenager i wanted to die so bad my mom was in abusive relationship and there was nothing i could do to stop we've tried to get help but no one wanted to help so my and my 2 little brothers watched as our mom got beat on a daily basis to where he could have killed her. I hated going to to school cuz i got bullied alot and coming home was worst cux i didnt know what the hell i was coming home too. And when i wanted to kill myself cuz i couldnt take the pain anymore i just couldnt do it i couldnt leave my mom amd my brothers like that. Especially bc i helped my mom raise my brothers so i thought of them as my own so i suffered to be here to protect them.

@newmama19 my mom and dad would fight but then some how I would get in the mix as i got older it was me and my mom fighting verbally and one time when me and my husband were just bf and gf well my dad told my brother dont you dare call anyone or ill snap your sisters neck i literally met death i was scared i was gonna die i looked at my brother and said call justin and till this day i will not forget i wont let them see me or my family or near us my husband seen my neck he was sooo piss

@mumma_0fo2 my moms boyfriend at the time didnt lay a hand on me or my brothers but he emotionally and mentally abuse us. Until i was 17 1/2 he decided to take a video of me taking a shower while i was intoxicated. And now 2 years ago he admitted to my mom that if he hadnt taken the video he actually would have done something to me. He sat there and told other people that i was asking for it and i was seducing him and what not.

Is it rude to not want anyone at the hospital? I was just informed that my MIL wants to be waiting at the hospital so as soon as I pop out the baby she can rush in to be with the baby. I am really a private person and dont really want anyone at the hospital when I give birth (except my husband). I was planning on calling all the family to come to the hospital once I was all cleaned up and ready for visitors. Am I being rude? How do I tell them I dont want visitors a minute after pushing out a baby?! I would like some private time for just my husband & I!
I dont want to leave my baby in daycare I want my baby with me she is so small I want to take care of her!!!!

You shouldn’t tell anyone you’re going to do it, everyone will have an opinion. My husband got a vasectomy after our 2nd and we didn’t tell anyone, including our parents, until after it was done. We always knew we only wanted 2 kids and we didn’t want anyone’s negative opinions.
