Feeling slightly anxious...my 23 month old does not repeat back words I say. He does point and say a few words but I can’t have a conversation and he does not say 2-3 words like ‘I want milk’ instead he will just say ‘milky’ or he will just cry !! Can anyone relate ?? Or offer advice on how I could encourage his speech? Xx

Charlie was 3 and a half before he started using more than 2 words and he’s been at nursery since he was 2 and a half. They’ll do it in their own time

Hamish was about 2.5 before he was clearer with his speech. Just over three now and he’s really good.
Best thing that works is just talking to them, I would talk to him all the time, pointing out what I was doing, the birds I could see when out walking. Hearing words is meant to increase the words

Awww lol

Your Ashtons speech might be better as he has a big brother so probably learns a lot from seeing. Thank you for the advice xx.
