Correct but by the 17th the irs should have a portal to enter direct deposit info if you're getting a check but that's only if they haven't sent out your check yet which that portal will let you know.
They're trying to avoid sending out paper checks.
Yes its true if you filed your paper check you will receive it in the mail and if you did it with direct deposit that's how you get it
