I know it’s early, but I’ve been super stressed about this & I have time to post.
My daughter was born 3 weeks early at 37 weeks. She will be 5 months old on the 25th of this month. She will only lift her head up during tummy time on her boppy pillow. She will do it perfectly and look around. When I put her on the flat ground, she will not push with her hands & lift her head up. She tries and gets it up a little bit but it’s only for like 2 seconds. Tummy time on a flat surface consists of her burrying her face into the ground and whining/crying. It’s stressing me out because she’s starting to half roll and lay on her side sometimes. I’m worried about her fully rolling over during the middle of the night and the thought of suffocation😭 She has an appointment coming up next week & I was forsure going to bring it up to her pediatriacian to get her thoughts, but I want to know if anyone else’s babies went through this and it just took them a little longer? Or if they needed a little physical therapy? When I’m home or my fiancé’s home with the girls, we try tummy time with her ATLEAST 10 times a day. I’m just at a loss right now & I feel like I’m failing my baby😩

No don’t worry too much about her delay. U have to consider she was a little early and adjust her time accordingly. She’s still so young. Just keep encouraging tummy time maybe with some toys, which I’m sure you’re already doing lol, she will get there. How long are u doing tummy time each time? Sounds like she doesn’t like it very much, my 2nd son hated it haha. Of course bring this up to the pedi and she may be able to give u some tips but also consider with the time adjustment she’s only about what 3&1/2mths old? She will be just fine and the fact you’re so concerned shows you’re a great mom!! You’re not failing at all momma!! Cut yourself some slack!
