Anyone else have or had a lot of protein in urine while pregnant? Been up and down hospital for past two weeks to be monitored and baby to be monitored but each time results come back they find higher amounts of protein they haven't found any other signs of Preeclampsia yet which is why I have to keep going back to be monitored but can there be another reason for high amounts of protein? I will ask them when I go back up this week but just curious 😢

@mummy2two, nope 🤷♀️ I had a couple of extra appointments than I should have done because of my thyroid but they never acted on the protein, always baffled me. I just figured it meant it wasn’t worth worrying about, but maybe it is?!
@jo.wilcox Oh fair enough, I have had protein in my urine in my previous pregnancies but they never called me in weekly for appointments at the hospital so was confused that I got to keep going back this time round, I must have higher amounts of protein than usual but they keep going on about Preeclampsia and how it can come at anytime just strange they didn't look for this before, I think I need to ask them to explain it to me better because I just feel more confused when I leave the hospital and get a phone call I have to go back in 😂
Have you had to do a 24 hour urine catch? When you leave them a urine sample it isn’t as accurate as a 24 hour urine catch. The sample shows basically the last 2-3 hours. So if you’re dehydrated, have a uti, etc it will show protein. The 24 hour urine catch would really tell them what’s going on. They should have ordered one to see a baseline for you and have you do a repeat. I spill protein in my urine because I’m always dehydrated no matter how much I try to up my water intake.
No I haven't I have to do two different urine samples within my 3 hour BPA appointments for them to keep sending of, I can ask them about that this week as never heard of it but so far I've had 3 urine samples come back with high protein and this acid thing I will take photos of results in a minute and I've been called in for 3 BPA now be the third one this week
@mummy2two, I’m in the US so maybe it’s something we do here. But for 24 hours you collect your urine in a container at home. How’s baby doing? Are you bp readings okay? Have they done any NSTs?
This happened with me on and off throughout my last pregnancy. My consultant said it could be something as simple as a bit of discharge that causes it. Every time they would send my sample off for further testing it would come back fine.x
Ahh see it's my tests that come back from the further testing that are showing higher samples of protein lol which is why I've had to keep going back and fourth the hospital, I just hope that my next lot this week come back fine it really worries me 😢
@mummy2two, Mine kept coming back as +1 but they didnt seem concerned as it was only one foot that kept swelling. Not my hands,face and both feet. Have you had any swelling? And hows your bp? I’m sure if they are keeping a close eye on you all will be ok. I had a hell of a lot of fluid around my baby and my consultant admitted he had neglected me abit so booked me in to be induced for 5days later but i went into labour on my own before then x
@emmabump13 aww bless fair enough, everytime I got to my BPA everything is fine, no symptoms they ask, blood results come back fine and BP has always been fine, I just don't understand why it keeps coming back higher amounts if everything else seems in check lol
I had 2+ in mine on my last appointment got induced 2 days later... x
I've had 3+ in my previous appointments they said when I reach 37 weeks they can induce me but because I'm not showing any other signs I could go up to 39 weeks
How many weeks we're you when they induced you? I don't want to be induced 😂
@mummy2two, I was full term but at my last app they said 2+ urine and he wouldn’t move for them so said reduced movements and my face had also started going blotchy x

Yes I've been in and out of hospital last two weeks now it isn't that, they just keep me coming back for BPA to check I haven't got that or any other signs of Preeclampsia

Went in for my 20 week check up and found out our son had passed away. Nothing was wrong, my pregnancy has been going great. I'm so numb right now. I'll he delivering him later this week. I don't want to do this. I don't want to do this. Not before Christmas. How am I'm going to tell my kids?? My dear sweet baby boy. Why did this happen?
I had protein in my urine in my pregnancy with my son, so got a blood test with showed elevated uric acid. I also had high BP that pregnancy but never developed pre eclampsia. Without symptoms it’s really nothing to worry about as long as you’re being monitored properly.
