Bella is asleep in her crib and finally got herself to sleep!!!

Started at 730, check her at 735, left for 10 min 745 she’s asleep !!! @massgirl, thank you for suggesting the Ferber method 🤩

She fell asleep while I was standing at her crib so I’m not sure if that totally counts ? And every time I walked in she was standing at the crib with her one foot up, looked like she’s attempting to climb out

She may try to climb out 😂 ...mine did! Just remember that if she wakes up later tonight the same rules apply. A cue would certainly helps and I even played the same music, and read the same bed time story for a few weeks so her brain would learn that this is what happens before sleep

Same books a good idea, she loves her books! I don’t want to jinx myself but usually once she’s down she doesn’t wake up 🤞🏻

I hope she doesn’t climb out ! That’s a huge fear of mine is her climbing out and falling the wrong way and hurting herself 🥴

It’s having them “cry it out” but checking on them in intervals.. so the old school cry it out method, you would ignore the cries until baby cries his or herself asleep.

Ferber method you comfort the baby in intervals of the first check being 5 min and any checks after that is every 10 min.

The goal is to comfort baby without feeding or picking up . Only soothe by patting their back or soft speaking .

Tonight was our first try and I can’t believe it worked . Bella tends to hysterically cry if she’s put down by herself and I’m trying to break that cycle for our sake and also #2 coming! Also Bella only naps once a day 1230-2 so she’s tired by the time 730 coming along

I’ve posted about my defiant toddler many times before but I’m really at a loss now. She deliberately disobeys. Like, she knows what “no” means and if she’s doing something she knows she’s not supposed to I can ask “do you want to go in timeout?” And she’ll answer “no” and SOMETIMES stop.. I can’t take her anywhere cause she refuses to listen. She runs wild, screams, throws tantrums etc. At home she’s just as bad and absolutely nothing I do or say helps. Timeout doesn’t work, hand poppings don’t work, a pop on the butt doesn’t work, I’ve tried getting down to her level and calmly explaining things or trying to make sure she knows that I understand her emotions and things like that but I’m not even kidding when I say nothing works with her. I’m constantly telling her no and even though she knows she’s going to get into trouble she will do it anyways and then cream this blood curdling scream when she does get in trouble. I’ve raided Pinterest for days, write everything down, tried everything I found... idk what else to do. Everyone keeps telling me it’s “terrible twos” or “she’s just strong willed” or that it’s normal for her age and all of that might be true but there’s gotta be some kind of something that will help me teach her to listen to me and such.

I’m so sick of Faye jumping and standing on the couches. Daily she gets put in timeouts because of it. I just told her “Stop standing on the couch! Sit on your butt!” within a min I caught her stand up on the coffee table and leap to the couch! She’s never stood on the coffee table before, but it’s like - dude, I JUST told you to not jump on the couch and you think this is okay?! She’s lost tv privileges. She’s lost play time outside / cut down playtime. I took away her tablet for the day yesterday, but I’m at the end of ideas. I refuse to hit/spank so that won’t work. Helpppppp

is it wrong to be frustrated that my daughter acts like she can't do certain things with out my help. she plays dumb a lot and I wish I could be like no girl show what you know. she acts like she can't trace or match shapes so shes ask for "mommy finger" to help her so I barely hold her hand and she magically can do it but if I dont hold her hand she just scribbles and acts like she doesnt know the pic is how she traces when I'm "helping her" otherwise it'll just be scribbles all over the page
