Anyone else got really emotional when leaving their first family home with your partner and kid(s)? Today is the day we get the keys to our own house and leave behind this rented house. Feel so overwhelmed, it's the first place Me, Craig and Charlie lived as our own little family without parents. I'm buzzing but i'm also proper gutted 😢

Oh god yes! When I shut the door on our first flat I was so emotional!! I absolutely hated the flat but it was our first home. Every time we drive passed I get a little pang of emotion thinking that’s where we started.
Now we have our house, I never want to leave it! We’ve made so many memories here. The house got too small for all 6 of us and I was so adamant we weren’t leaving, we made it bigger 😂

Glad i'm not the only one. I think it's evem harder because this house we are renting i absoloutely love. But then i tell myself i only love it cosmetically (the double sink, fancy tap etc) otherwise the house is basic. But the memories ans the fact that it was our first family home is proper pulling at me 😂 aww i think it's lovely that you expanded instead of moving, although you're probably not wanting to see another builder for a long long time 😂😂

I saw our builder recently at Tesco and said “don’t you dare come near me!” 😂
You’ve got a new home now to make loads of new memories together!
When my parents first came to England they squatted in an abandoned house (long story!)
Now they live in the most beautiful home that they’ve worked their arses off for. They say they always look back on it with great memories as it’s where they started!

I miss our first family home. Max was born there (Not literally lol). And I loved the house. Was only there 2yrs so it wasn't even there that long 😂

We've been here just over 18 months, given our 1 months notice so still have this place until end of september but get the keys to the new place tomorrow. I feel daft but while i was packing it proper hit me 🙈😂 and it's only up the road from where we are now 😂😂

I drive past our first house most days and miss it so much :( we only bought it to sell on but once we had Cooper it was harder to leave. You will have more happy memories in your new home and look back fondly im sure :) good luck! C
