Guys I'm so torn. This is totally first world problems by the way. My daughter LOVES rocks. She has collections and is always picking them up whenever we travel.
I'm currently in Maui on my honeymoon and I've picked up two rocks (smaller than my palm) to take home to her. But it seems like everywhere we go there's are reminders to leave the nature alone. Leave rocks and seashells behind, don't use harmful sunscreen...so do I leave the rocks behind or make my baby happy with the excitement of a rock from a foreign land

Take the rocks lol. And enjoy your honeymoon!

Ask a couple natives why those signs are up .
You aren’t apart of that culture and you don’t know what you could be “upsetting” removing those rocks.

I was obsessed with rocks growing up and still have some that are still special to me.... I'm bad, take them! I left one I really wanted from Yellowstone and regret it. 😭🤣🤣

Idk. I don't think a rock from a beach is a huge deal but if it were from a national park where its actually illegal I probably wouldn't. Then again one person taking two rocks isn't a huge deal but what if every single person who visited took two rocks?

See that's why I'm thinking of leaving them. I'm a little hippy at heart and care about my surroundings but I know this will probably trump everything's I will bring back to her. Hopefully mother Earth understands that my little girl will take great care of them and love them ❤️

Rock's from the Hawaiian Islands are sacred and carry with them spirits of their ancestors who will often follow them. Leave the rocks where you find then or you may find your self haunted. And it is also disrespectful.
