It's a long journey but keep being postive they will eventually get it. But it does take time just keep at it and always be positive when they do make it to the potty and never force it or get angry then it's more of a fight
With my niece I created a schedule based off of school and her eating times and she picked it up pretty fast.
With my youngest sister I would constantly ask her especially after meals and drinking. Because she didn’t go to daycare I would take her to use the bathroom with me and representation really worked.

I took my son to the bathroom every hour for the first few days and he started to understand that's where he is suppose to potty.
