Opinions on membrane sweeping? Just want to wrap my head around it more before my appointment Friday.
I had a c section previously if that makes any difference in advice.
My sweet baby girl gained her angel wings this morning. She was my best friend, my true love my everything. She was so happy and beautiful, I'm struggling to say good bye. Sleep tight princess, mummy and daddy love you very very much ❤

because I’ve heard it can be really painful. And I had a chemistry exam the day after my due date so I was trying to keep him in until after haha

Are you trying for a vbac or another csection?
For my 1st pregnancy it hurt like a bitch so I'll never do it again even though I don't need to lol

I’ve never had it done and I was overdue with both kids. Maybe my drs just don’t do it idk. Are u trying for a VBAC? I guess if you’re trying for that maybe the sweep would be a good idea because I love heard with previous c sections and trying for a vbac they won’t induce u. Is that correct?

Yup I’m going for a vbac and they won’t induce you because of the higher percent chance of uterine rupture

yea my sister had the same issue. Good luck I really hope u can do a vbac! My sister was able to but she went into labor on her own.

I’ve had it done with my last 2, everyone else says it hurt, mine didn’t, but mine did nothing for me either.....? I’m going to ask for it to be done this time too because I don’t want to be induced if I don’t have to be!

I was told it only works if your body is already ready To start laboring so dilation and being effaced is needed as well for it to be more effective z

I had it done and went into labor within 24 hours. I was one day shy of 39 weeks and had been dilated and effaced for weeks.

I had it done twice if I remember correctly. It didn't hurt and didn't do anything. I was induced at 42 weeks

I had one when I was induced. Obviously it wasn't to try to jump start labor, but to speed things up I guess. That shit hurt so bad that I couldn't imagine women willingly asking for one 😅
