I’m pretty sure my breastfeeding journey is over.. my baby girl throws it up every single time now and is so fussy and gassy. My first daughter did this too and she had to be put on special formula. I was hoping this time would be different. I feel like such a failure 😞
She outgrew needing the Zantac by around 6 months and got over the dairy allergy a little after she turned 1 year.
Lucky! We still have a diary allergy over here I hope he outgrows it soon!
Formula is totally fine—I struggled with my first son and he became a formula baby and he’s a happy healthy 6.5 year old now. My daughter had similar issues to what you’re describing, and I had to cut out dairy and give her Zantac. She’s 2 years old now and still happily nursing. Do what works best for your family, but just wanted to mention the Zantac as an option because it made a HUGE difference for us! :)
Nothing wrong with formula but have you spoken to a lactation consultant?
If you want to keep trying you could always change your diet. It will change your breastmilk. She could be having a reaction to things you are eating. But formula is definitely ok. We are a formula household. Fed is definitely best. No matter where it comes from.
I wouldn’t know what she’s reacting too bc I don’t eat the same stuff everyday and I cut diary out of my diet as well! 😩
@girlmom1519, it was just a thought. There’s no shame at all having to do formula. Fed is best. You did it this long and that’s something to be proud of. I couldn’t even breastfeed at all. I wish I could have
Hey, hey. It is a-okay if she is on formula. You tried. And you made the best decision for her. And that's what makes you a strong momma. Fed is best!
Yikes! That’s so hard—I didn’t realize how much I missed having real cheese and butter until I ate it after over a year of avoiding it while nursing and it was actual Heaven on Earth, haha!
