Well my son loved his little brother when he was born he called him his baby and wouldn’t let anybody touch him

I had my second daughter when my oldest was 2.5. It took her a good while to warm up to her, but by the time they were 1 and 3, they were inseparable and have been extremely close ever since. Up until a couple of years ago, you never saw one without the other and even now that they are older, they are still the best of friends and spend the majority of their free time together. Sure they fight, but they love each other so much and I hope they keep the bond they have forever.

1 to 2 was honestly the hardest transition for me 😬😬😬

I agree. Once you have #3 & #4 and so on lol it doesn't really phase you.

My son was emotional and tried to act like him for the first week but absolutely loves him now & always calls him ‘my baby’ & wants to hold him every time😅

I had my second when my first was 2 years 5 months. He was so excited and wanted to hold her any time she cried. Having said that, hes always been friendly and loves/dotes on any breathing thing that's smaller than him, so I wasnt too worried to begin with. It really depends on the personality of the child and how hands on you want them to be once the baby arrives. When I had my youngest (my daughter was a few months shy of 2 and not quite as nurturing as her brother), I tried to keep her included by asking her to pick a diaper for me, hand me a wet wipe, rub the babies head -- simple tasks to let her know that the baby needs attention, but that I won't leave her out of the process. It was a little rough the first couple of weeks, but once she started to feel more included, she started going out of her way to soothe and talk to him. Now they're all best friends 💖

It was easy for me. The only rough thing was getting into a strict routine.

First 2 days she wouldn’t look at her sister. Then she started to look at her. Saying hi. Giving kisses. By two weeks she wanted to carry her on her own. They are 2 years and 4 days apart.
The transition was super easy.
