After you had your baby, did your hospital make you have a bowel movement before leaving? All I've been asked so far is if I have had any gas (as that means that my bowels are working). I'm scared that it's going to hurt because I have stitches. Anyone have any tips/advice when it comes to going #2 after birth with stitches?

Take some stool softeners if you didn’t get them already. Those wet wipes and the spray bottle helped to clean after.

They didn't require me go before leaving. Go when you need to go. Don't hold it in and don't push too much. Little pushes are fine but don't strain.
@cit0.bunni But aren't the stitches where you have a bowel movement so you'd have to clean that area? Sorry if this seems dumb, ftm here and I don't really know where the stitches are
@amanda7 It depends on the size of the tear. Use the spray bottle first, wipe then dab. Not dumb at all! The bathroom is definitely a process after birth
@cit0.bunni I'm actually not sure what size of tear it was. It was just an overwhelming experience for me.
They gave me stool softeners in the hospital had a second degree tear with my first and a first degree with my second. They did require me to go, but definitely go when you feel the need. The spray bottle is still your bff lol. It hurt more with my first because I was more sore to push.
