Okay so guys we recently went to Malta with our 12 month old baby (3 hour flight) and let’s just say he was activeeeee on the plane!! I didn’t want to go on a plane again...he just wanted to be out of his seat and it was tiring. So this December when he will be 18 months old we are thinking of going to Abu Dhabi (7 hour flight) but I’m thinking will he be a little settler and not running away from us and screaming on the plane ? Many thanks for your tips and advice 💋💋

We went with theo at 13 months and he was a dream. We went again recently (21 months) and honestly, he was a nightmare. He was that child on the plane that everyone Rolls their eyes at.
Maybe take some books, some colouring activities, just things he'd like to do while sat down. Id also suggest buying new toys for the plane and making sure he doesn't see them before you get on the plane. New is exciting!

I’m actually against tablets, however it really is a life saver. And maybe you should consider one too. We travel a lot with my one year old. He is usually asleep during the flight, however when he is starting misbehaving I give him the tablet to watch his favourite cartoons. And that’s keeping him quiet so far.
With regards to the new toys I wouldn’t bother. We bought him new fun, singing toys just before the flight and he wasn’t interested (but every child is different, perhaps you will get a different reaction from yours). Also, I would suggest to feed your son during takeoff and landing. And definitely bring some treats. I hope that helps. Good luck xx

Hi thanks for the advice.
Where did you you travel to if you don’t mind me asking? How long was the flight?
Also, I do have a tablet but he doesn’t seem to be interested in it. I’m thinking Is it an age thing, maybe at 18 months he might watch it!
Also how do I put the cartoons on...I didn’t think I would have internet on the plane lol ? Xx

No problem. We usually travel around Europe, however we’ve been to Florida recently and that’s about 9 hours flight. If you have a Netflix account, you can easily download a movies onto your tablet. Just make sure you do it at home when you have the Internet. After that you can watch the movies without WiFi anywhere and anytime. You can also purchase memory card for your tablet to store more movies or games for your little one. There are so many fun games that could catch his eye. Also, if you travel with Emirates you will have an access to the WiFi on the plane. Xx

You’re welcome. I’m glad I could help. You know, he was an angel on the morning flight, he slept over 4 hours straight. But on the way back (night flight) he was tired and overstimulated and it was hard to help him relax. After some time he was ok. We had a comfy pillow and an extra seat. Which is a massive bonus. If you have a chance for an extra space definitely jump on it. xx
