A mom's post made me think about my son n his sexuality when he young. I think the only reason I wouldn't want my son to be gay because he already gone have a difficult time in life as it is...other than that I don't think I would mind!
Would y'all be upset/distraught if ur son grewup to be gay?
If im being honest - i would love him because he’s my son - BUT i wouldn’t agree with the lifestyle and it would be VERY DIFFICULT for me . I don’t really care if people get offended from that lol cuz i know someone DEFF will.
I cannot believe some of these responses. Yikes.
@johnsonarriel25, many of these responses are why kids kill themselves and/or hide who they are from their families.
@squishymommy1 yes I know....I was the same when I was younger. Hell I still don't talk that way in front of them. And I don't watch gay shows when my man or parents are around 🤪
@squishymommy1 everyone saying the will be supportive but would prefer them to not be gay how is that bad
I wouldn't be upset at all. I would be by his side. But I do not want him to be gay. I definitely wouldn't in courage it at all either. Especially at a age where they don't comprehend it. But at a age when he can I would be OK. Shit I'm married to a black man some Dont think that's right but no one will tell me who I love.my niece is 16 she is lesbian and o support her 1000%
Both me and my children's father are Bisexual, so honestly we wouldn't even bat an eye at it. We will love them no matter who they want to be with and support them though their hardships and all the judgement theyd be met with if they were gay. They'll grow up knowing that we will always be here to love and support them and that they can always be open with us about their sexuality and we will accept them as they are.
If either of my children end up being gay it wouldn’t upset me I wouldn’t love them anything less, I will support them in anyway I can I would just want them to be happy.
I could never be upset with my child for having a preference for the opposite sex. I wouldn't love them any less nor would I disown them.
I would love my children regardless, on the other hand my husband would prob be upset.. but he would never cut them out of his life.
I can’t imagine my feelings changing towards my child or being upset cuz of her sexual preference. I’d like to raise her to know that no matter who she decides to be in life I’m always gonna support her
I wouldn’t bat an eyelash. No one’s sexual orientation affects who they are to me whatsoever
I wouldn't be be upset or anything in that order, I'd be happy, especially if he doesn't hide it and doesn't feel wrong about being gay, if he grows up to be gay that's the way God made him to be and im 100% A-OK with that💕💕
I would be worried and a little upset but not at my child. It would be more because I know how society can be and I never want any of my kids to feel isolated and discriminated against, especially for their sexuality. In a perfect world, all people would/should be able to be true to themselves and not be criticized for doing so. But unfortunately, that’s not the world we live in. I think it would definitely make me even more protective. I always want what’s best for my children and will be there to support whatever makes them happy.
Yes exactly...so u can imagine how worrying that would be for me....I would be hella worried. People in Detroit shoot gay men and transexuals just for fun.a boy just got arrested for purposely luring gay boys into hookups, just to Rob and sometimes kill them...the world is scary😞
@johnsonarriel25, oh yes it is. People are crazy. And I definitely know how Detroit can be. My husband was born and raised there, so we visit a few times a year. His sister and mom have had to deal with people getting shot and killed on the streets surrounding their homes (not related to the topic of being gay though). The world can be a cruel place.
I will support my kids no matter who they decide to love
My son who is 13 is gay. 150% not upset in anyway! It’s not different then my kids that like the opposite sex 🤷🏼♀️
@johnsonarriel25, just like my heterosexual kids don’t have to tell me they are heterosexual. Neither did he ever need to tell us he’s gay. Because it’s NORMAL.
My job is a parent is to make sure my child is happy. Not to judge them for something that is out of their control. Boy, girl, black, white, blue, or a tree.. I don’t care... Whatever makes my children happy works for me. As long as they are with someone who treats them wonderfully, and makes them truly happy, then I’m happy.
Also rather shocked at at how many “my husband wouldn’t be okay with it” comments. If my husband was so close minded, I don’t think I’d be able to even be with him now. No way I could stand for someone not supporting their children 100%.
@jennatess well that don't matter what they think.ill support n love him enough for the both of us. And if it's too much for him. I would seperate from Dad for the sack of my son's happiness. All men not OPEN MINDED. Some have to be groomed into the new society that has been created
I want my daughter to be truly and well loved by someone who is good for her. I want her to have the easiest life possible, but I will be okay with whoever it is as long as they treat her as well as she deserves.
I get what you are saying though.
I wouldn't be upset at all. I'd love either one of them no matter what. 🤷♀️ My husband is opposite of me and wouldn't accept it but that's who he is and I would hope one day if either were he would change his mind about it.
I've seen it go either way. Both my parents were totally against it.
My sisters are supported by both parents. Even my husband's granny came around.
I've seen parents completely cut off their children.
@nerdymommyplus2, I've seen that many times as well. I personally don't understand how someone could completely shut their child out of their life because of their sexuality.
Yes my fiance is twice my age so we have TOTALLY different views on lgbtq. He hated gay men, but love bisexual women...so double standard.but time will work it out
Nope I wouldn't be upset at all if my child was gay.. I would be upset if my child grew up thinking it's not ok to be true to themselves.
I love gays, One of my BEST friends is gay (Lesbian) and that's totally fine with me 😄 I wouldn't love him any less and I would except him as he is. Same for my daughter.
If im being honest - i would love him because he’s my son - BUT i wouldn’t agree with the lifestyle and it would be VERY DIFFICULT for me . I don’t really care if people get offended from that lol cuz i know someone DEFF will.
I understand that.im bisexual myself.my dad always made me feel like homosexuality was gross, but my mom just was like whatever. I've never came out in told anyone n my fam except my sister. It would be difficult...but I would support n love him.
It would be super hypocritical of me since I'm bisexual 🤷. But I also don't think about their sexuality because they're way toooo young for that.
Why do you think he might be gay? Unless you have an older child not listed.
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...
Transgender children
So I just learned that in my kids school district (my kids aren't in school yet my oldest will be starting kindergarten next September) there are twin boys who identify as girls. They are 5 years old. What's your opinions on this matter given they are 5!!! I don't believe that at that age they really understand the whole thing. So the entire school had to take a course on how to handle transgender children. For example they can't say girls go this or boys do that. What are...
Science!
My friend posted this on facebook last night and said her kids were asleep within minutes. It's a song that scientists created to help people fall asleep. I was skeptical but I thought what the hay, I'll try it out. I didn't bank on Dh falling asleep, but both him and lo were asleep by minute 2. And lo slept six straight hours. ?
