Has anyone been induced? What was your experience like? Asking for a friend. Thanks!

I was induced with the pill that goes in vaginally and omg 4 hours and I had my baby. It was so strong my contractions were hitting me like a brick wall! I could catch a break to even breath which made my sons heart rate drop so I was monitored very closely. It was super scary! I will never do it again unless I absolutely have to. I was 39 weeks when induced.

I was induced with my first. OB Broke my water and started pitocin at 9 AM. I slept for a while. Woke up and asked to be checked at 11:45 AM. Was told I was 9- 9 1/2 cm dilated. Too late for an epidural or anything. My OB wasn't even at the hospital she had to rush back. My mom had left to go home and shower so she had to rush there. I started pushing at 12 PM and he was born at 12:13 PM. Extremely fast labor and delivery!

I was induced at I think it was 41 and a half weeks with my first. I had the IV. Also got the epidural when I was 4 cm. Crazy painful contractions. They say getting induced makes contractions worse. They broke my water. My blood pressure went down twice but that happens with getting induced they said. Other then that it went along smoothly and I advanced quickly to being fully dilated. Pushed for almost two hours. So all in all it was altogether about 8 hours. Pushing was the worst part for me

I was induced twice and both times it was fine 🤷🏼‍♀️ I didn’t have the vaginal pill, just the Pitocin. I did have epidurals both times though because yes, the contractions do get very strong and uncomfortable, but both times I basically slept until I was at 10 cm. I was also 39 weeks but induced for big babies to avoid them getting any bigger and needing c sections :)

I was induced with my 2nd as my first labor was too long and he was huge for me. Labor was 12 hours with pitocin vs 4 days on my own. With my first I pushed for 36 minutes, I pushed 1.5 times with my little, he all but delivered himself before my OB could even gown and glove. If I decided to have anymore, I would definitely induce again

I was induced at 39 weeks. I was in labor for 17 hours because the first methods of pills they gave me didn’t work ... but sure enough after they broke my water my daughter came 3 hours later ! I would do it again 👍🏾

Had a great induction experience. 11 hour labor because my body wasn't responding to the pitocin lol took forever for me to feel contractions and have them become regular. The pitocin want as bad as I had thought it was going to be. Still ended up delivering with no pain meds. I didn't have the cervadil because I was already really effaced and dilated to a 2

I was induced with all 4 of my babies. The oldest(41wks) was the longest labor as I was dilated or even effaced at all. That labor was a total of 11.5 hrs, counting the 2.5 hrs of pushing (Iv pain meds). The second (38 weeks) I was dilated to a 5 with bulging waters, broke my water and then started the pitocin, 2.5 hours from start to finish, 2 pushes she was born (iv pain meds again). Number 3 (39 weeks) I was a 4 when induced, 2 hrs start finish, started pitocin, broke my water, roughly pushed for 10 minutes (iv pain meds). Baby number 4 (39 weeks), I was at a 4 again, started pitocin, broke my water, 2hrs 20 minutes and one push later she was born (nitrous, which I loved!).

I was induced obviously with the first because nothing was happening, the 2nd was because of me being so dilated, having bulging waters, and living over an hour away from the hospital. Number 3 was because he was measuring at almost 9lbs at 38 weeks. Number 4 was because of me living over an hour away.
