Today was autumns 3 year check up appointment. Today is A day I've been waiting for for most of her life! Her doctor officially diagnosed her with autism. We already knew she was autistic but now that she was formally diagnosed they gave her sleep meds and now our insurance has to cover all autism related doctors, therapies and medication due to the federal law on autism coverage. And we can get financial help with doctors and school and what not! I'm very happy for her, she will get all the help she needs to live a happy successful life. Also! She is 37 1/2 inches tall (hazel is between 32"-36" I can't remember exactly) and autumn is 28lbs (hazel is 25lbs) she is proportionate in weight and height. She is healthy other than that but her doctor told us she is hyper-sensitive, which I knew she was super sensitive but she is hyper-sensitive on her face/head/mouth/hair and when I change her diaper and her feet and hands. So that explains a lot like why she fights diaper changes and teeth brushing and hair brushing. Anyways she's over all healthy and officially diagnosed! Oh and no shots till 4 years old! Woohoo

Oh wow.. I guess they can't diagnose what they don't see. :( autumn hits her head when upset/frustrated/mad and screams all the time! Like when she's mad/scared/happy/sad, all the time. She doesn't control her tone of voice well (idk if that's a symptom but she can't), flails her hands/arms when happy or upset or mad. She fake laughs sometimes and flaps her hands with it. Makes inappropriate facial expressions for the time and "weird" faces. Doesn't make eye contact when ever she can avoid it. Has trouble sleeping. Will not potty train.. Can't follow one step directions at 3 years old. Is very ridgid(OCD) everything has to be a certain way. Has to have a routine. You Can't move anything (toys, furniture, etc) in front of her. She will flip out. Is A very picky eater. She practically lives on oatmeal, she likes to touch things to her face. she doesn't talk much. Not full sentences. She knows some words and is now copying what I say a lot. She doesn't nap. She is socially awkward and rather play alone or with her sister. She doesn't know how to play with others really. She like doesn't understand.. She is very smart though(idk at what age kids usually learns these things) but since shes so far behind she's learned a lot recently, along with knew words she knows all the colors of the rainbow plus black, brown, white, and pink. She can count to 10 and knows what each number is written even out of order, she is learning her ABCs she knows some written, and can say some. And can almost sing the ABC song but mumbles most of them lol she can almost sing twinkle twinkle little star. And some other songs on the baby channel. But that's A lot for a child that just stopped talking at about 14 month and started over and slow. Like she would only learn A new word every so often then recently started picking up a ton. Like in the last 6 months. I'm really proud of her. Anyways she's A handful lol I love her to death though. Her doctor waited till she turned 3 to diagnose her but we're also going to the child study center in September to get her diagnosed by them as well. People respect their opinion more.
