I’m about to rant!! Lol
So I posted this picture of my nephew(who attends my in home daycare) and my youngest daughter in matching outfits with the caption “these two will be trouble in about 14 years!” On my Facebook and tagged my sister in law(my husbands sister)in the post so she would see it.
Backstory: my sister in law and my nephew both developed a rash over the last few days and she didn’t know what it was until today. Which it is poison ivy. Well my brother in law(father of my nephew) comments on my post “now if only ashley(which is me) can keep them out of the poison ivy!”
1. No one at my house nor any other daycare kiddos have it.
2. My sister in law has it!!
That right there at least in my opinion would tell any sensible person that they got it most likely from the same source and if that source was my house at least one of my own three kids, one of the other two daycare kids or myself would also have it.
Idk maybe I’m being crazy. I just thought it was so rude to comment that on my post that had nothing to do with poison ivy just a cute pic of the kiddos! I felt as if he was blaming me for his son getting poison ivy.
***poison ivy isn’t contagious person to person. The rash is from exposure to the oils on the plant and the rash can take up to 14 days after contact with the plant to appear.
*** kids were napping when I posted on Facebook and all my daycare kiddos are already gone for the day as I’m posting now.

Yes. Most people who have come in contact with him think the same. I’ve heard him described as speaking down to me, rude, thinks he is better than everyone, etc.
I always make my own assessment of people. I dont like to let others opinions weigh on my opinion. Basically I am fine with someone until they do me wrong. And I give 2nd chances. This is the second time he has accused me of something involving my nephew and I’m to the point that I want to say find a new sitter but I love my nephew and my sister in law to death and I do not want to rock the relationship. So For now I will let it go but if it happens again I will have to put my foot down.

I’d be annoyed too. He sounds like a jerk.
I was so annoyed. My husband was pretty ticked too and talked to his sister. Just excuses no apology.
Probably humor but I do not know his personality. Fb is always a place for people to just say what they want. I would just tell him that the comment was a bit rude to you and hope that he is okay with that.
He is an ex cop and has that I know more than you attitude.
I'd reply " if only *bil* would remember poison ivy rashes aren't contagious and *sil* has it as well."

I wouldn’t think anything of it if I saw his response. Meaning I wouldn’t think you were neglectful. But you can just remind him that his comments can hurt your reputation as a daycare provider. Can you delete his comment??
Yes but people have already seen it since he commented shortly after I posted it and then I didnt see his comments for a couple hours. So
