I don't understand why people don't think a woman should be up and moving after having a baby? The past week when weve gone out four people have stopped us to ask how old Violet is. And when I tell them theyve all gone "And youre up moving around so quick!? You just had a baby!" And I'm like....Ive been up "moving around" since two hours after she was born...should I be expected to sit on the couch all day? Of course I'm up and about I have a nearly 3 year old, a home to take care of, groceries to buy, and we just like to get out of the house. It's not healthy to stay in all the time especially with the nice weather. But people are always so shocked when were out. I don't know what to say at all. I feel fine, why shouldn't I get out and about. Just because I gave birth 9 days ago doesn't mean I'm bed bound or something.

You may feel fine, but there’s a very large internal wound where your placenta once was. So while it’s not a “you should be bedridden” situation...you should still take it easy for the sake of your own body healing. I say this...but I won’t do things the way I should either.

I was pretty much the same with my second. She tore me in 3 places but I practically felt amazing and back to normal. I was up and about and out with the baby after a week. With my first he tore me second degree, I wasn't out for a while lol I was in too much pain to sit or walk far

I also think that it’s okay to not feel up to much. Every woman is different and no one should be made to feel uncomfortable for what they are ready for after birth. You’re lucky that you feel so great.

Is it older people? Back in the day, in Mexico at least, the mom and baby had to basically stay in the room for 40 days. Family would come and help with the other kids and make food and whatnot. My older family members would try to tell me I was doing too much after I had my kids but it’s just a different time now. I went back to school days after both my kids were born lol

I had the same thing, I was up about 5 hours after my C-section and the nurse on duty refused to let my walk alone, Like this is my fourth baby I know what I can and can't handle. Even after we left the hospital we went Walmart to get my medicine and people were making comments. It's really annoying. 🙄

I was out and about 3 days after. Not even I think the next day after I got out of the hospital I was all dolled up and ready to take on the world! I couldn’t stand being pregnant, it was so hard with my 2nd so when he was born I just wanted to do so much lol

We left the hospital the day after my daughter was born. She was born 3:58am on that Thursday and we left the hospital at 1pm Friday because we were both good to be let go. We went to Walmart and then lunch immediatly after we left the hospital. 🤷‍♀️ The nurses were even surprised at how quickly I felt okay to be up. But I felt fine, didn't even take pain meds at the hospital because I didn't feel I needed them. Everyone's different, I know, but if I feel well enough, I'm going to be up.
