Day 3 and it’s still super swollen and hurts so bad. I can’t eat anything.
Honestly thinking about taking it out.

Its cute on you, but super please consider That needs to be looked at either by another shop or urgent care, as someone who worked in a shop that looks gnarly. The balls should not be digging that deeply into the tissue like that, and can cause Pitt scars. If you dont want to take it out and try again once healed, You should have them at least replace the bar with one much longer, and I'd keep an eye out on the discoloration of the tongue and around the piercings. The white around the balls could quickly be rejection or infection. Please please please either get another shop's opinion or have it seen by a doctor.
He said it looked great since it’s only been 3 days and he said it’s healing nicely other than a little swelling and the bruising.
@brittanystewart304 not saying hes wrong but I've seen many artists say that when things might be worse than they look, hense why I said I'd have a different shop look at it, a fresh set of eyes never hurts, or at least to have them give you a longer bar, they really shouldnt be digging that deep. But aside from all that I hope things go well!

I'm glad you went to see them about it! My cheek rings wrre a bitch- but I toughed it out. I got reaccuring blood blisters from them migrating but its been about 6 years since I've had it done and only delt with the worst part for about a year. Its a mussle thats highly used so its going to take some time for sure- but if its too much greif to bare after a week I'd definitely weight out the pros and cons 😅
@familygrown, the swelling is basically gone today. It still hurts but I’m trying to tough it out. Lol. It looks like it’s infected but he said it’s just the muscle or whatever. He said by next week I should be back to normal. 😂

Useless piercing. I loved my snakeeyes but the ball always falls off when eating or talking .
Holy shit take that out before your tounge falls off 😳😳😳 I would go to the er that’s seriously dangerous. I had a lip ring swell up into my cheek and I had to surgically remove it. Infection bad. That bar is no good needs to go before it’s too late
I agree with the bar looking to short, they should have made it longer to accommodate the swelling.it could be your problem. I had this happen before when I got my septum done, BUT thankfully the peircer noticed it off hand and took it out and put a bigger one in.
Have you been using an antiseptic mouthwash? Also the bar looks a little small. The bar would be irritating the swelling and causing it to nearly get infected. Keep icing your mouth as much as possible to keep the swelling minimal and avoid irritating it further. I would suggest a mouthwash or rinsing a few times a day with mild salty water.
Ouch. I could not do it. I have had piercing before but the tongue is a sensitive area and I would not want to mess with it. What is the normal healing time for this piercing?
If it hurts very bad then maybe it could be infected. Be careful.
I've had the center of my tongue done. It's not that bad but and it never really got swollen at all and healed quick, but this on the tip of the tongue looks scary. I'd be afraid I'd loose the tip of my tongue.

It almost looks like they didn't use a long enough bar.. Some piercings take longer to heal and stay swollen for a while. If its something you really want and are willing to enure the process it would take some time and irritance but could be worth it...
My cheak piercings go through the whole muscle and typically take a bout a year to fully heal and adjust. The swelling went down in less than 2 weeks... They have to "migrate" into their correct position because its a highly flexed muscle- the toung is kind of like that and I'd imagine it would take some extra ouch for the tip especially... I have the center of my toung done and it took about a week for the swelling to completely go down. Just be sure to keep it clean and follow any instructions :)
Ultimately its up to you whether ypu want to keep hassling with it.. regardless- I think that looks super neat!
I have a regular tongue piercing and it never got swollen at all. But I’m pretty this one just keeps swelling. Like it really hurts.
And I keep ice on it 24/7 except for when I’m asleep.
So I think I may just take it out.
I was just going to say this! Its so swollen the balls are pushed into the flesh. Thats not good. Where did you do this?

He swears it’s healing like it should and that if I just wait a couple more days it’ll be better. 🤷🏼♀️. I shoulda just got something else done.
It’s not suppose to hurt really bad I use to have that piercing I’m going to get it again after I have my baby ... you could be allergic to that metal

My mom's was swollen for a little over a week when she had hers done.
The swelling doesn’t bother me, it just hurts! I can’t eat anything because it hurts so bad.
@brittanystewart304 yeah she was stuck on soup for a while. And even then she had to eat it like Luke warm because the temperature bothered her too. My fiance has done his twice and took it out both times because he couldn't handle the pain and not eating.
