My birth story:

My due date was originally May 13th but my son wasn’t ready to come out so I did a lot of “natural” things to help him come out. I did a lot of walking, drinking water, squats, and taking hot showers. Still nothing worked. Had a doctors appointment May 16th and I was 3 cm dilated and was told I will be getting induced May 19th at 11:30 pm to have him one week late exactly which the 20th hit the one week mark. So May 19th I’m packing the baby bag and my hospital bag and then I remembered once I go in and get induced I won’t be able to eat for who knows how long so my parents and I went to Burger King so i can have a “good meal” before getting induced. We dined in and the whole time I was feeling perfectly fine, I was just nervous of course. We finally finish and I’m walking out the restaurant and I’m literally walking across the parking lot into the car when I feel a gush down there and I’m like “oh sh*t” so I run back into the restaurant and into the bathroom and i was just wet but i wasn’t overly concerned. Luckily I had on black leggings so I made myself a pad out of toilet paper and went back home to clean myself and literally the second I stand up from the toilet the biggest gush just came out of me that it created a tiny lil puddle and I’m like “Mama it’s time we gotta go! I’m not waiting until 11:30” I rush to the hospital at 8 pm and they confirmed my water broke and I was at 5cm dilated. I told myself I was going to try to go natural but if I couldn’t handle the pain I was going to get the epidural. Y’all I only lasted 1cm without meds before I asked to get the epidural. My contractions were just too uncomfortable and painful. I got the epidural and I was getting my cervix checked every 2 hours and I was only dilating 1cm every 2 hours but I was excited and nervous I didn’t feel the time. So fast forward I’m just chilling in my hospital bed when I feel so much pressure like I have to poop really bad I call my nurse and she checks if I’m really ready to push and she says it’s time and I’m ohmygosh lol but can y’all guess how long I pushed for? Yup I pushed for 2 hours and 40 something mins. I was so exhausted,dehydrated, hungry and sleepy. I didn’t want to push anymore i was so over it! I was in labor for 20 hours and pushed for nearly 3 hours and I finally delivered my handsome baby boy weighing 9 lbs 4 oz and 22 inches at 4:58 pm and oh I got a second degree tear inside my vagina I couldn’t stop bleeding for an hour I was in so many meds I wasn’t able to do skin to skin how I imagined I was too weak and I kept dozing off. Week 3 and I’m still healing but he’s here I’m happy and blessed.
