The sibling rivalry that I just witnessed I didn’t think I would see until they are teens 😂😂. Mason hit Natalie, I told him to get off the game and go to his room and gave the controller to Natalie. Less than 5 minutes pass and he tells me he wants to apologize to his sister, I tell him to go ahead, he tells her I’m sorry for hitting you Natalie and her response 😱 “I don’t care” mason and I were in shocked and he’s like but I said sorry and she is just starring at the tv and says and I said I don’t care... it got to a point that she yelled at him to leave her alone. He tells me, she can’t say that. 🤷🏻♀️ I don’t know what to do here, he hit her for no reason all over a game and she refuses to accept his apology..
This legit got me confused as to how to approach it, I have a son I’m raising not to be a woman beater and I have a daughter that I’m raising not to let a man hit you and get a way with it.. and these two just combined the two right in front of me..

I mean..she can say she doesn't care lol. By this point he can just drop it and move on 😂 kids are confusing.

Not sure entirely how to handle this. But maybe do the toothpaste trick with him or crumple up a piece of paper.
The theory is to show them that just because they apologize doesnt mean it fixes the damage they already inflected hence they shouldnt hit or use mean words towards another human being

I would’ve told him, that’s what he gets for hitting his sister, teach him that even if you apologize for doing something wrong, the hurt is still there and that person doesn’t have to accept your apology. Because a lot of kids think all they have to do is apologize and then they get to go back to the fun thing they were doing.
