2 kids. One is a toddler and the other is a newborn. Can't fit the carseat in the middle so I put the newborn's carseat behind the driver seat and the toddler's carseat behind the passenger seat. Anyone else with 2 have this seating arrangement or the opposite?

I don't drive so my son goes behind the drivers seat and my daughter behind the passenger seat.

This is how our seats are.
Does your younger one need a lot of attention back there or is he/she pretty quiet for most rides?
@miss_understood, she’s really chill. Only really cry’s if she’s hungry or tired.
I did the opposite - newborn behind passenger and toddler behind driver. Can see both in the mirrors but our toddler is more likely to need attention I think. Also, accidents are more likely on the driver's side so more protection for the newborn I guess.
That's how we have our kids. The seats are too big to be next to each other safely.

I have it like this too. The latch system in my car is only for the side seats

Same! I know my daughter would have a blast messing with my newborn if he was in the middle lol
I have my toddler behind drivers and newborn behind passenger cause my husband is the one that usually drives . We can’t fit a newborns car seat in the middle either so we had to do that
Is your husband able to see what the newborn is doing from the driver's seat? I keep thinking I'm going to need to reach back to my newborn for something and won't be able to since he's behind the driver's seat
@miss_understood, no he can’t. He gets car sick and I don’t. So I turn around and check on him myself. I plan to get one of those mirrors so he can check on him too

I have the newborn behind the passenger seat cause I have a little mirror to see him
Ok! I was thinking about getting a mirror too. Just thought about what if I need to reach back there to get to him for something...but then I figured I probably wouldn't be doing that while driving anyway
