When does it stop being regular toddler tantrums and start being spoiled? This past month or so it's non stop, all day everyday. And it gets three times as bad when my SO is home. I've tried time out, redirecting him (because he won't share with other kids), all he does is scream and yell no to us. He does not care one bit. He will even hit us. We stopped going out to eat because of the way he acts especially in public. It sucks when I see other toddlers his age , not acting perfect but not constantly screaming about every little thing. I'm wore out and stressed because idk what I'm doing wrong. All my in laws family have that "I'm better than you" mindset, so they judge us about every little thing we do when it comes to parenting and they just make me feel awful. We don't give in everytime but we don't give in to his tantrums and he will literally scream for over an hour. I feel like a failure.

You're definitely not a failure, at that age he is just testing his boundaries! I would start really rewarding good behavior. Anything positive you can reward, sticker chart..once he has enough stickers he gets a toy anything! Positive reinforcement does wonders for them. My son does well with discussion but I know they're all different, I sit down with him or get eye level and say stuff like "I know you're frustrated and that's really hard but how can we work through it together?" Just hang in there...its a challenge and they definitely push buttons but itll pass!

I have those days, where you feel like you have done everything wrong and kissed them goodnight was the one and only thing you did right. 💕 It's harder when you feel judged. I don't know your son but I have a couple things, maybe they will work maybe they won't. But know if you are trying your hardest, you are doing an amazing job and not failing him. One thing with multiples I've learned is at toddler age Sharing is not caring, it's not fair and they are not fans. Our practice is if toddler 1 has a toy and toddler 2 wants it, toddler 2 must wait until toddler 1 is finished with toy. I feel that's a more realistic approach to real life. It's sounding like his tantrums are frustration based and lack of communication. It's easier for him to throw a tantrum that to explain to you his needs. This just takes time, patience, and examples. It's summer, my hopes are that since we can be outside tantrums will lessen, we will be doing more activities which means less time for then to get bored. Hang in there mama!

Thank you so much! He loves outside and we go fishing/to the park a lot but when we're home it's a different story. when we're outdoors even telling him not to go in the road is a nightmare. I know you're not supposed to give in cause then they know they can do whatever and we don't most days but sometimes I don't wanna go through all the frustration.

Well you can't live in fear of your almost 3yo and stay inside. Make Stop a game. You can start it inside and make it like Simon says.... Tell him to hop like a bunny to his chair, jump like a frog to get his shoes, stop and freeze until you say go.... And then let him run like a mad man. Move that stuff to outdoors and maybe that can help the road situation. I would try and make it fun and not like he is being naughty.

It’s the age and I’m sorry to say that even at 4 we are still dealing with some of this!! Patience and consistency is KEY!!! Whatever form of punishment you’re using u moist stick with. We did time outs. I don’t even do them anymore just threaten one and the behavior stops but it took a long time. Right now he’s testing his boundaries which is totally normal. Give him choices when u can. Ex would u like to wear the green shirt or red shirt? Would u like to eat a banana or strawberries things like that ya know? He needs to be in control, he believes anyway haha, but there’s def things he can control. Change the way u ask things of him. One thing that has worked really well for my boys is using the timer on my phone. Like when it’s time to clean up or leave a place for example. I tell them I’m setting the timer and when it goes off it’s time to go or clean up or go to bed etc. does that make sense? Also who gives a flying fuck what your in-laws think? He’s acting like a normal toddler/almost 3 year old. As far as going on to dinner I’d continue to expose him to that. If he’s acting up u take him out of the restaurant until he can calm down. I hope some of this has helped

Thank you! I am just wondering if other toddlers are always like this or are we doing something wrong.
