Ladies advice needed please,

I've been breastfeeding charlie with him having a bottle every couple of days if not more. Around the time we started weaning hes decided hes not having bottles and really puts up a fight, occasionally he will have one but not normally from me, unless hes in his bouncer and can't smell my milk on me. He also keeps biting me and has made me bleed once, but now he has 2 teeth its only likely to get worse. I spoke to the health visitor last week and she basically said if hes hungry he will have it but hes just not having it. How an earth do i get him to take a bottle, allowing me to give up breastfeeding (because of the biting I've decided it will be best). I also go back to work on the 1st June and would prefer to have done so by then. We've been trying him with both formula and expressed milk in a bottle and in a cup but he just doesn't want to know, he will however have formula from a calpol syringe so its not the fact of a different taste.
🍼Sorry for the long post!🍼

I had to leave Theo with my mam for every bottle time for a few days, then I spent about a week slowly entering the house while he was having his bottle.
I was extremely lucky that my mam is self employed and only lived next door though.

Maybe try telling him off for the biting, Theo bit me once at about 8 months old, he drew blood. I took him off the boob, said no really sternly and put him down on the floor and walked out of the room for literally around 15-30 seconds... He cried but he never did it again! An ex midwife turned health visitor told me to try it, she said practising health visitors they can't recommend that anymore for some reason 🤷‍♀️

Breastfeeding around work has worked for a lot of my friends to, baby will have water while they are at work and then a couple of big feeds when they get home from work :) xx

We've been trying both, the other day Andrew got him to have 3oz breastmilk from the bottle and the following day he wouldn't have the breastmilk but had an oz of formula xx @theodoresmammy

@jodie1809 I only ask because Theo would completely refuse breastmilk from the bottle, I guess its because it wasn't direct from the source 😂 it had to be formula out of the bottle xx

@theodoresmammy that makes sense haha. Andrew went to do the shopping and i gave him instructions to buy a tommee tippee sippy cup and he came back and said there were so many he didn't get one. So i guess I've got to go tomorrow and get one! Xx

My little girl never ever took a bottle from me, but she would from someone else. When I went back to work I carried on breastfeeding but just at her bedtime feed, but saying that she wasn’t biting me. Sorry it’s not much help but you’re definitely not alone with the bottle issue. It’s very frustrating. xx

He took a bottle the other day from daddy and also my mum when i went to the hairdressers but he put up a fuss with daddy but hust wont have one from me. The biting is the main reason for me stopping also I'm shift work so not guaranteed to be able to do evening or early morning feeds. Xx

@jodie1809, Yh I was shift work too. If I missed her bedtime I would just hve to express and then Daddy do the bottle. I was always told the same as u, if they’re hungry they’ll take it. But it’s not as simple as that is it. xx

@lady_glitter_sparkles it definitely isn't, especially if they can still smell the milk on you. Thats what we did with my eldest but if built a store of milk but this time i haven't had chance to express too much with a toddler to occupy too. He will take the formula in breakfast or the odd time I've given it in the calpol syringe to check he'd have it because it tastes slightly different. Its a flippin challenge xx

You can try moving away from a bottle now and give him milk in a sippy cup. My son never took a bottle, he just wouldn’t entertain it but he took cups ok.
