Everyone ask what I'm going to name this baby. I'm adamant about naming him Steven ☺ period. They just keep suggesting other names. I'm just like no 😑 I don't care what you think or how you feel about the name. 🤷♀...
He will be named after my husbands uncle who was more like a father to him. A man who I grew to adore and love and real man in my eyes. Who's truly missed.. My mil tells me I just don't like the name Steven its like a really white name what if this baby is dark?
🤬🙄how is that a white name? Names are not for a certain race or am I just lost.? Why do you see color anyway 🤦♀.. 🤬🤔
People tell me my sons name is a white name.. Jaxon. I mean he’s half white and half hispanic, I love the name and his nicknames are endless! my brothers name is Dante and he’s had kids his OWN AGE ask why he has a black name when he’s white.. they’re 5. ☹️ don’t worry about other people, as soon as everyone stops associating race with every little thing like NAMES, it’ll be an easier place to live in. and last you checked, i’m pretty sure you’re the one squeezing that baby out, you do as you please with that baby! ❤️
Yes I don't see why people are still so caught up on race still. 🤷♀ it's sad. From hairstyle, color, clothing just everything. I didn't even think names would be on the list. Lol btw your sons name Jaxon was on my list ☺ I like that.
@albertrettazariah1386, exactly, treat me with respect and i’ll give it to you. 🤷🏽♀️ and thanks! we were suppose to spell it Jaxson but I was really tired filling out his birth certificate paperwork and yeah. 😂
Steven is a great name! He’ll be able to spell it, everyone will be able to pronounce it and it’ll be a good grown up name later. My babies names are Katherine & Jacob and we get talked about all the time by our relatives who have a hard time pronouncing English names. We chose their names for US & for THEM, literally no one else matters🙃
I got a few people saying they didn’t like that I named my son Taylor. They all say it’s a girl name. Well you know what I think it’s a good name for a boy lol so I don’t care
@jennatess, it’s so annoying when people say a name is too white or too girly for a boy. I love gender neutral names. My daughters name is Charley.
@llcoolkay, I agree. And in this day and age, gender neutral names are super popular. I knew I needed to stick with a super feminine, or very masculine first name because my last name is so feminine. But, if I didn’t have such a feminine last name, I would’ve done the name Morgan for a boy. But, reading the name “Morgan Tess” you immediately think it’s a girl, only because my last name is so darn feminine.
Other than my scenario, I loveeee names I can be used for both boys or girls.
@jennatess, lol yeah I definitely think girl. I think Morgan is so cute for a boy. The whole time we were in the hospital after both kids all the nurses kept calling them the opposite gender because of their names
I’m in the same boat but I haven’t told anyone names I just keep letting them think I don’t have any. They’ll fine out when their born. You don’t have to like the name just love the child or go away 🤷🏽♀️
My best friend is having the same issue.
She had her second child six days after my son… And her mother-in-law is giving her crap because both of her sons names are “too white“. 🤦🏼♀️. She’s really strong headed though, and keeps telling people to just shut up. That she can name her child whatever she wants.
But honestly I think people will talk and recommend other names no matter what. 🙄.
When we decided on the name Faye for my daughter, I had like 15 people tell me it was “too old fashion“. And, “ only good for an old lady.”. But now that she’s three years old , almost four… I have people tell me all the time that it suits her so well.
And then three weeks ago we had our second, and named him Eric.
I’ve had people tell me that it’s “too boring“, and that they “expected something more original” from me since my daughters name is “so cool”.
Basically insinuating that his name isn’t cool. 😂.
It is what it is… I’m not a fan of made up or unique names, and others are. I like basic, old-fashioned names. 🤷🏼♀️. It is what it is.
The “only good for an old lady” kills me. Like do people think old ladies just pop up with that name. Like they weren’t babies once upon a time and had that name? 😩😂
I love your daughters name that's very pretty. I don't think Eric is a boring name. I don't understand how people can get upset because you choose to pick what you like and not like what they like. So they constantly nag and salt about your choice to get you to change it. Why can't they just be happy and keep the rudeness to themselves. It can be hurtful.
Right. 🤣 he's most definitely chocolate. My petty just was like you should bring that up when she watching family feud.
I’m with you, I don’t think a name can or should be related to one race. I think Steven is a great name. It’ll sound very professional for when he’s older. Don’t let anyone try to alter the plans you have for YOUR child. As long as you and the father agree then I’d tell everyone else to “shove it”. 🤷🏻♀️😂
Thank you My husband loved that I even though about that name. It made him so happy.
I have a cousin named Steven and a brother named Stephen. Neither of them are white.
I don't know what century she's living in.
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...

Transgender children
So I just learned that in my kids school district (my kids aren't in school yet my oldest will be starting kindergarten next September) there are twin boys who identify as girls. They are 5 years old. What's your opinions on this matter given they are 5!!! I don't believe that at that age they really understand the whole thing. So the entire school had to take a course on how to handle transgender children. For example they can't say girls go this or boys do that. What are...
Science!
My friend posted this on facebook last night and said her kids were asleep within minutes. It's a song that scientists created to help people fall asleep. I was skeptical but I thought what the hay, I'll try it out. I didn't bank on Dh falling asleep, but both him and lo were asleep by minute 2. And lo slept six straight hours. ?
