I’m actually going to look into a bigger tank. I didn’t know they need at least 3gallons I feel bad for him now.
@ladyfreyja, they do? Oh wow. I’ve always had them growing up and not once did I know they need a heater. I feel so bad now.
Might wanna get a bigger tank. Not enough oxygen for both of them
@kellynicole yea I know i work at pet smart but their too small. Betas need at least 3 gallons per fish.. I never recommend them
@kellynicole not trying to be rude or anything but I didn't know at first and I lost three fish. No they aren't expensive but I don't want the kids to see anything bad happen to them. My son loved his. He died right before his birthday. We had him for 3 years and he mainly survived so long because of the heater and larger space
Love the idea! Will have to see what my little one comes up wth
I had a beta in high school.... He was red, Hemo was his name and he would try to jump every time I would clean his tank no matter the size of the container 😄 he managed to escape about 3 times and loved to tell the tale! I don't miss cleaning the tank tho!
@jennatess, mine would jump out also, I had a bunch of different tanks and fish but cleaning his was the most frustrating lol fast and jumping everywhere even if he was sitting in another big tank when I cleaned his still try to run 🤦♀️🤦♀️
I thought if you put more then one in a tank they kill each other
@kellynicole, lol ok now I see it 👌🏽 I wish you could put more then one in cus they all look so pretty sucks the prettiest things be the meanest
@kaylakayyxoo, i know! But you can put 5 females together!! They call it a sorority
And they live in rice paddies and drainage ditches in the wild. They’re ok.
I think it looks good, but I agree, I also worked in a few pet stores and did research on many of the pets we carried and they do need a bigger tank unfortunately. Right now I have my Betta in a 10 gallon tank along with two cory cats and a black loach. Just always make sure they have plants to hide in
