How long do you guys keep your kids rear facing? My daughter will be 3 in September and I still rear face her, she also hasn’t hit 22 pounds yet either.
My son will be 4 next month and we just switched he's seat around a couple months ago
I hope I don’t sound ignorant but how do you rear face your baby pass 18 months to 2 years?
Me personally I’ve never saw any child rear faced pass about 18 months.
Again I’m curious as I’m carrying my first child and I want all info pertaining to anything that I’ve never experienced while raising the many children I have fostered.
@whereswaldo, I’m aware of the limits and the laws of when to turn them. In my previous comment I stated that I come from a family of giants so to see that people are rear facing their children up to 6 was amazing to me because the children I’m around are giants. I thought it was a trick to being able to properly rear face your child pass the age of 2. However I see that it’s all about the size of your child and their growth.
@camie.90, that is the best plan. :) you never know how fast your kid will grow or how much tear facing will cause issues. So can just try to keep them rear facing as long as you can! :)
@camie.90, ohhhh. Yeah my kids are giants too. Like 99 percentile. I didn’t have seats back then that had limits like today and we made it almost to 3. My 9 year old wears adult sizes 😳
You’re suppose to rear face until at least two but it’s recommended to rear face until they outgrow the rear facing limits on your child’s seat. Unfortunately by 3 my daughter outgrew the rear facing limits.
@alishap1212, you’re welcome! I definitely plan on getting a seat that goes to 50lbs rear facing with my next kid
@maddiesmommy16, it’s pretty awesome I can’t even imagine my daughter being 50’ pounds but it’s so great keep them rear facing as long as possible
@alishap1212, we had the extend2fit that had a 50lb limit but my daughter hated it and her new seat only had a 40 pound limit. I like that it has a higher height limit too since she is tall.

“You look too young to be a mom!”
Or how about …
“You have a BABY? No! You look like a baby yourself!”👶
Oh wait, here’s a good one …
“Are you the nanny, ooor … ?”
“No, yeah I’m his mom,” I’d reply. “Yes, I am young,” I’d agree.
Considering I got pregnant straight out of college, I was certainly on the younger end of the parenting spectrum. (No one was more surprised than me, I assure you.) And yet, I wasn’t exactly a teen mom. I wasn’t juggling school courses and motherhood, like so many s...
I posted the day before yesterday about my friend.. & well....... her fiancé came over, AND she came alone 😐 we eat sit around and after awhile my husband takes him to the back & the next thing I know he’s coming in the house with a weird look on his face, asking her if there was something he should know, I instantly gets up just in case someone turns into a maniac....... well long story short he cried & told her how disloyal she is & how disappointed he was.. she’s crying asking me why would I ...
i finally let him do it
I finally let DF throw away my foundations. He says I look better without it. He said he hates seeing me cover my face with make up when I can just wear mascara and eyeliner. He says it makes me look fake and he said he's not saying it to be mean, hes saying it because he cares. Im glad he's real with me. He says I have natural beauty. He says he doesn't like it when I dye my hair or wear make up because he loves my natural beauty. I know some girls feel as though that t...
OT. rant! forward facing early
ok, so in my birth month forum (October 2012) someone posted a picture of their lo riding in the car in a forward facing seat! what???? it baffles me when parents do this. I'm not trying to offend anyone.. but why do ppl do this?? the oldest baby in our birth month is 9 months, she was 3 months premature. but even at 9 months I wouldn't have my child forward facing.
So over this feeling!
Ever since I've had ds, OH and I have fought my mother on not wanting to give ds a dummy just cause we don't like them and find he self soothes. For the past three times my mother has had him, she has gone against our rule and given him a dummy and of course I spoke to her about it (that's all my knowledge on how many times she's done it). On Sunday we celebrated my stepfathers birthday and due to OH working I had to do it alone which isn't the thing that bothered me. The...
It’s up to you! We flipped our son at 2.5.
