It sounds weird but i packed xl depends. It was far more comfortable than those god awful epic pads they ask you to wear. I also put 2 outfits in their for my daughter 1 was a onesie and the other more of a casual outfit. The hospital provided the hat and diapers. We put nb diapers in anyways since we had a trip. I also packed baby lotion, a nasal aspirator and a baby blanket and then for myself i brought a brush, a large dress, my bra (i used cut up depends to act as a pad inside the bra for boob leakage bc im cheap like that) and 4 bottles with a can of regular formula. I had to switch to soy in a week so if i had to do it again id pack regular formula AND soy. Hope this helps! My husband worked his clinicals in labor and delivery so he picked up some good ideas from the mom nurses he worked with.

On the hospitals website where I deliver at they have a bag check list. For mother and baby.

Things that aren’t recommend usually when you look up “hospital packing” lists:

• Heating pad. One that plugs in + a long extension cord. If you end up with a c-section, it’s SO beneficial when it comes to trapped air/gas. And, If you don’t end up with a c-section it’s still helpful on the lower back from being in that bed + the epidural site.
If I was told I could only bring one thing to the hospital, it’d be that heating pad.
• A support band. My favorite is MamaStrut. Whether you have a C-section or a vaginal delivery, the extra support from a support band is tremendous. Some hospitals will give out basic ones, but I love MamaStrut because it’s like shorts attached so it doesn’t move around on your body. It stays put and keeps all your belly hugged in tight.
•Sound machine. Amazon has a great one for like $17.00 that’s plug in or battery operated. We like to place them right by the hospital door with the “white noise” option on to drown out the sounds of people & nurses in the hallway.

I’m having a c-section. I didn’t get to pack a hospital bag with my last child because she was born early.

@chelseabrayleeadalyn97, then one thousand percent pack a heating pad. I just got a $10.00 one from Walgreens. It did the trick!

it's funny, I collected a large bag in the hospital, but in fact I only needed shampoo, balm and bathrobe))
