Has anyone ever taken castor oil to start contractions? Did it work? How much did you take? (No negative comments about baby coming when ready please) this is my fourth pregnancy. I’m 39 weeks. I’m over it lol
I say don’t get on here with your negative comments and y’all still do it 🙄
Only do it if your willing to risk killing your own child. It’s almost over! Just wait it out...
No I asked very specific questions. Didn’t ask about negative effects of it
So you know that castor oil can potentially be dangerous but you don’t care you only wanted to hear positive stories? I’m sorry but how does that make any sense?
@rina414 she doesn't give 2 shits that it could kill her child! Susan's husbands, sister's, cousin's, aunty's, friend and people from Google babies were ok, therefore her's 100% will be too. No regard for her child's life what so ever.
Opinions were given, like you asked. You chose to respond to them how you did. Being rowdy gets negative responses back, ALWAYS. The internet is for everyone, not responding to the 'irrelevant' comments would've been hella more mild then all this. Not that you asked, just saying. ❣️
Amen momma.
Don’t post shit in the internet cause someone is gonna have something to say about it. Castor oil is dangerous regardless of what OP thinks.
I have 3 other children you think I don’t know risk etc? This isn’t my first rodeo. Most of y’all are speaking from experience so am I. I’ve taken it before and it had no effect. Someone else on here may have had a different experience. It’s like y’all are attacking me but I’ve been thru this before so I’d appreciate if you keep your negative, not asked for opinions to yourself. Simple. For me from my physician there isn’t any high risk except for massive diarrhea 🤷🏽♀️ you can follow your beliefs and doctors and I can do the same for mine. Different strokes for different folks.
Doesn’t mater what you take, you should always ask a doctor before doing something. Especially when trying to induce labor. 🤷♀️
Sorry you didn’t get the “responses” you wanted. But much like you people are allowed to post whatever the hell they want.
💕
If it didn’t apply let it fly. Simple. I have 3 kids you think idk what risk there are etc? Jeez
Ok but I didn’t ask for that. I simply asked for opinions on something. Anything else was irrelevant.
Hun the only reason anyone got hostile is because of how you responded to people caring about the safety of your baby. No one got on here calling you out of your name or calling you a killer they had advice to a PUBLIC post and u .. kind of went ape shit. Yeah, sometimes it doesn't affect people BUT babies have died - like the other mother's on here I wish you hadn't taken it for the saftey of your munchkin,❣️ now that you have. I wish the best for you and your family. You have been pregnant since what? The summer? And 3 other times? I think waiting a few weeks will be okay. These mom's only went in on you because of your responses and trying to kick people off your page, real shit.
honestly people are just trying to let you know its not safe. yeah its a laxative. one that can cause your baby to poop in your uterus and eat it and end up dying. as foe your remark on vaccinations that explains everything. if you dont vacinate your kids you are whats wrong with todays society. nice logic. i wont vaccinate my child cause i dont want to harm it but ill take something i now will hurt my child in utero. do me a favor and block me too cuz i cant stand people with that mind set
I know some safer ways to induce are eating pineapples (I’ve heard) and def nipple stimulation. Sex. Walking. Bouncy ball. It’s started labor for many. Try that so at least baby is kept safe. Better safe than sorry.
We’ve tried. She’s already taken two doses. 🤷♀️ can’t help those who don’t want it.
🗣 I ASKED 3 QUESTIONS TO BE ANSWERED. None of which these ladies did. They hopped on here assuming, ranting and judging. 🤷🏽♀️
@4girlsloveme, nothing. Concerned parents is all. You’re selfish. Keep telling yourself otherwise. Idgaf.
@littleonemorning, you do gaf that’s why you’re still commenting your 2 cents 🥰
This was a woman who took castor oil and lost her baby. You said yourself, it effects some not all. Why even gamble being apart of that “some” category? This post and your responses are disgusting. If your baby dies it’ll be YOU’RE fault. Your selfishness is atrocious. And I hope that Baby is safe and healthy.
This is what I've asked her like 10 times now. Why would you gamble with a babies life?! But it is the only comments she will not reply to. It's sad that something may happen to this child and she is so damn selfish, she doesn't give a fuck.
@4girlsloveme, ok this is a public forum. I can comment what I want. I don’t give a shit.
No negative comments? It can kill your child. Take it from a momma who has her child’s ashes this Easter. Don’t fucking risk your baby because you’re selfish. You made the choice to be pregnant so stick it out to the end.
@pr1nc3sslauren, WHATTTT?! I didn’t offend her in any way. I didn’t say anything wrong. Or towards her losing the baby. It’s none of my business so I didn’t comment on that. You’re an internet troll
@4girlsloveme, you’re the troll. Obviously. No real mother would be so careless with such a precious life.
@4girlsloveme, internet trolls are people who post and say thins just to get a rise out of people. None of these women are trolls. They are giving you life saving facts. You’re delusional.
I’m not getting upset at all. I think what I’m more upset about is the fact that there are more moms in my inbox answering my questions because they said they don’t want the backlash or to be looked at a certain way because of their own damn opinion on what I asked. Because of people like you and others come along and rant. That’s a shame.
All I got to say is if you took it i would head to the hospital to make sure that baby is ok.
But why take the risk? That is the point. Why gamble with you child's life, knowing the potential danger. Your getting all pissy because no one answered your question, I've asked multiple times now, why you would risk it? I can't wrap my head around it.
If my post didn’t apply to you idk why any of you commented. I don’t go sticking my nose in people business that didn’t ask. 🤷🏽♀️ it’s simple. Someone asked direct questions and y’all came on here doing the exact opposite.
@4girlsloveme and it's simple that I can't not say something when someone is gambling with their child's life. There is no argument 🤷♀️
Listen, I asked 3 simple questions. Moms hopped on here not knowing whether I took it or not. Not knowing if I was going to or not. I didn’t ask for negative opinions on anything.simply if it does not apply let it fly. Y’all are so judgmental. Which like I said before, there are now a bunch of moms in my inbox who have taken it no problem. But because of women like you they feel they can’t publicly post their experience with it because you attach immediately.
Stop deflecting and be thankful these ladies did you a solid and potentially saved your baby. I'm also in my last week of pregnancy. I'm miserable and tired too but my suffering is worth the health of my baby.
I didn’t ask for that advice from them. My post was very clear on what I had a question about
I had a friend who did. Her son died. Not all Drs are up to date and sadly recommend it. The consequences don't change their lives any so they don't care to give the information that castor oil can and has killed many babies.
Well.....I didn't read comments and won't honestly, just answering the ?
You guys are talking about an over the counter laxative. I bet you all get you kids vaccinated too huh? Pumping god knows what into your children 🤦🏽♀️ but you feel bad for mines? Shut up
@4girlsloveme, ok I’m gone. Just answer 1 thing. Why are you not making any comments on the FACT it can KILL your baby?! So ahead and cry that you’re being bullied. No, you’re being educated and only getting backlash because of your shit attitude and lack of concern about your child’s life. People are in your inbox because they know they made a dumbass dangerous decision and were selfish. I wouldn’t want to air that out either. 😬
@4girlsloveme, I’d prefer if my child didn’t die of a preventable disease. So yeah. I do my research 😉
I would tel you all of this in person tbh 🤷🏻♀️ anything to potentially save a baby’s life.
Y’all are some real life internet trolls. If you ever feed your children fast food (McDonald’s, Burger King etc.) gtfo my post 😂😂😂 IF MY POST DID NOT PERTAIN TO YOU DONT COMMENT.
@4girlsloveme, at least I could wait to have my babies when they were ready. Not force them out because I’m selfish. 🤷♀️
@4girlsloveme your comparison is ridiculous! An unborn baby swallowing their shit and a child eating a French fry is not even in the same ball park. And your making an assumption that everyone feeds their child processed food? I for one do not. So take that rubbish comment and run with it.
My parents fed me McDonald’s my entire childhood. Yet I’m somehow alive and healthy. Shocking I know. I’ve never met a child that died from McDonald’s but I do PERSONALLY know a baby that DIED from castor oil because the mom was too selfish to wait a week. So. Risk your child’s life for your own satisfaction I guess. 🤷🏼♀️
Why are you on my post if the questions don’t pertain to you? Why waste your time and energy
Because your risking your child's life. No mother is going to keep scrolling past that and not have something to say.
@mamagunn.no.1, ma’am if you feed your children fast food trash, whole milk or any of that bull crap you are risking their lives. Save your advice please
@4girlsloveme my child is 1, so no I don't. I also don't feed my baby their own faeces
There are also facts from studies that it worked for a percentage of people WITHOUT complications as facts from doctors. Every region, area and practice is different. Save it
The ignorance. I swear 😧🤯 why is taking the risk more important than waiting a week or 2 tops? Seriously?
I’ve been on this app since 2015. I’ve seen mamas who have lost their children because they couldn’t wait a week or two. These ladies are just trying to help. You asked for advice and they are providing real life facts. It’s not safe. No doctor would even in life recommend without a trained professional. There’s better ways to induce if you must have the baby right now
But why would you take that risk? I lost my child at 36 weeks, not by my own hand either and let me tell you, I was fucked up from it! It took me 10 years to even be able to function normally and regain some of my mental health. I can't comprehend why you would risk it? I really can't.
ALSO, it’s not the post or even the questions you asked that the problem. It’s the attitude you have and taking the risk that it could KILL your unborn so lightly.
I’m not trying to fight anyone. All I asked were 3 questions. Anything else is irrelevant to me. I didn’t ask for opinions on anything else otherwise I would have posted so.
I’m coming on your post for one simple answer
If it has been PROVEN that castor oil was the cause of making baby have their first poop in the womb and swallowing it, ultimately resulting in the death of said baby, WHY are you trying to fight women who are trying to warn you?? Like exactly how bad would you feel if your baby became one of the statistics all because of your ignorance?! 🤦🏻♀️
I am completely baffled at how anyone could risk their children’s lives just because you can’t hang another week even though when you got pregnant you should have known 40-42 weeks is usually the deal. I’d rather be miserable another week or 2 than never being able to forgive myself for being so selfish and killing my child 🤷🏻♀️
Yes, you can take it and everything be perfect... you can also drink alcohol once and your baby not get FAS, but would you risk that? Probably not.
Please do not try it. Just because things turned out fine the first time doesn’t mean it can be the same again. Your 39 weeks your baby will come. If you want a safe way to induce without risking you and your babies life try raspberry leaf tea. I used that on both children and worked like a charm
@mamagunn.no.1, 😔😔 i just pray for her sake that baby doesn’t have any complication. Nicu life sucks and having no child is even worse
@keeks89 I hope her baby is ok too! I know the pain of losing a child, I couldn't imagine if I had been the cause of it! And I did 5 days in nicu and it was hard enough, I couldn't imagine being in there for the long haul! I just can't comprehend why someone would take that risk. No matter how much research there is saying it was ok, there is research that says it is not. Why would someone risk it? I really can't comprehend it.
You know that the articles I looked up were out of date? Do you know if I asked my doctor or not? No so goodbye lol guess yall slipped over my comment where I said I took it before. J also took it over 24 hours ago. I was just getting an opinion on the questions I asked. Everything else is irrelevant
Then don’t ask the question if you don’t want answers. It’s the internet. I said MAKE SURE THE ARTICLES you read weren’t out of date. But 🤷♀️ How about you go for that walk? Call your doctor and tell them what you did. Just cause you did it doesn’t make it okay. Sorry not sorry.
Have a good Easter.
And as I said, how do you know your baby hasn't had a bowel movement? How do you know they aren't swallowing their meconium already?
Girl, castor oil is dangerous. For many reasons, use Dr. Google and look up women who have lost babies. Just because so and so did it with no issues doesn’t make it okay. I don’t care what pregnancy you are on or how over it you are, it is NOT a method of inducing labor. No practicing doctor will recommend it. 🤷♀️
Don’t make a post asking for advice and say “no negative” comments when you are posting something controversial. “Negative comments” are also advice.
@mamagunn.no.1, girlfriend I was done at 30 weeks with my youngest 😂 but I counted down. Even when I went in to have him, I was like ready to never be pregnant again. Lol
Still worth it though!
@littleonemorning oh I was over it too, but after losing a baby at 36 weeks, I was so keen to go as far as I could this time. I had to be induced at 38 weeks and cried for a week when they told me because I wanted him to come when he was ready. I just hope her baby is ok!
@mamagunn.no.1, same! I’m sorry momma.
I almost had my youngest at 36 weeks and I was a mess in the hospital. I just wanted him to stay in. And he did thank goodness, but it was not fun.
What did you expect? Your on a mum app, asking about Castor oil to induce labour, of which women with experience and who have done actual research know it has the potential to kill your baby. Why would you risk that? Yes, your baby may still be moving around, but how do you know they haven't had a bowel movement inside you already and aren't breathing in meconium. It can cause septicemia, which leads to death. This is the #1 question to get negative backlash as you are risking your babies life. I don't understand the type of person who would want to do that? I pray to God your baby is ok.
It’s people like you is why I have women in my inbox with advice because they too don’t want to be judged or commented on because of a simple damn question. Go away lol
You come onto a message board asking about Caster Oil, what do you expect to happen?
Yes, castor oil is dangers to use to induce labor and its not worth the risk. Just because someone says, I did it and ot worked or nothing happens nbd...doesnt mean that something wont happen to someone else that takes it.
If you want to try and induce, walk walk walk, bounce on a yoga ball, have sex...but unfortunately baby will come when baby is ready.
I expected my questions to be answer if it pertained to you 🤷🏽♀️ simple
OR it can do absolutely NOTHING because I took 2 doses yesterday. Y’all are also annoying!!!!! I just wanted advice of moms that have taken it before. All the extra wasn’t asked forZ shut up. I took 2 doses yesterday and nothing happened. Baby is moving fine. I’m feeling normal. Y’all drag shit.
None. At all. Don’t take it. Whether you see this comment as negative or not you’re risking your babies life.
It’s not a preference or parental decision. You can literally take your babies life. I watched it happen to a friend of mine.
That being said, if you truly cannot wait any longer, and would like to risk your babies well being/ LIFE you’re gonna do what you want anyway.
The answer to your question is : yes it CAN induce contractions or it can cause your baby to do what it’s meant to make you do. Poop inside of you and turn around and inhale it. So there’s your answer.
I don’t understand you were worried the other day about taking a bath but this doesn’t worry you. Please reconsider there are safer routes to take
Castor oil is very dangerous. I wouldn’t want to risk it. Try to walk I’ve heard that helps and it’s safe. I think I’ve seen people talk about eating pineapple as well.
I asked 3 questions tho. Either answer those or get off my post. Thanks 🥰
I did. It did start contraction but not labor. Once the diarrhea calms down walk stairs or hills or something! And make sure you drink tons of water so you don’t get dehydrated!!!
I believe there is a mother on here who lost her little one after taking castor oil to induce labor. I hope you reconsider. 🙏🏻 No one wants to see anything terrible happen.
I say don’t get on here with your negative comments and y’all still do it 🙄
I don’t care what you say, if it poses a risk to your child’s life then I’m gonna say something. Nothing was negative, it was all factual. Excuse me for advocating for the health and safety of your child.
@ek_ I agree. Some people take facts negative because it's not what they want to hear.
my cousin took a spoon full of it when she was pregnant and then walked every day and a week later she was having him
If it was so harmful to babies why would midwives and doulas swear by it? I’ve even watched videos of doctors recommending t
@spookylyn, and @ek_, are correct it’s a major concern and can every risk losing the baby ... if your willing to take that risk ... personally don’t know how anyone could or would after knowing the facts
I’ve never heard a midwife, doula, or dr recommend to use castor oil.
In fact the OB I had with my first said he wouldn’t have me in his practice if I used castor oil for any reason during my pregnancy.
@santistevanmommie, too bad that didn’t answer either of my questions 🙄 and fyi just like you’ve researched I’ve researched too. Just because you’ve never heard it doesn’t mean it isn’t true.
It causes massive diarrhea. I took it before with one of my kids no problem. I just forgot whether or not it made my contractions start.
You guys are talking about an over the counter laxative. I bet you all get you kids vaccinated too huh? Pumping god knows what into your children 🤦🏽♀️ but you feel bad for mines? Shut up
